Hi guys,

Does anyone know where i can get a hold of cork... I\'ve tryed DIY shops, and the only 2 hobby shop near me but no one has it... The guy in the DIY shop said that it\'s really hard to get and they aint had any for a couple of months.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

You can get tiles of cork at places like Staples or Office Depot. They come in approximately 8-16\" squares, I think they\'re designed so you can pin notes and stuff to the wall. It also happens to be a fantastic way to get much bigger pieces of cork than you\'ll ever need. The stuff is about 5mm thick as well, which is pretty nice.

I\'ve been using it on a few dozen bases, and I\'ve taken a small chunk out of the corner of the tile so far. It\'s gonna last a long long time :D

Glad you got some cork, although I think cork bark can be a little too bulky sometimes, so you might want to use it sparingly. Also, please paint it! I have a real pet hate for models just plonked on a huge piece of cork bark :|~

The thinner sheets of cork (like the notice boards someone already mentioned) can be cut and stacked to make taller rocks etc, so would still be useful to get. I got my cork from a home and hardware store - they were place mats but have served me well for models :D

Another option would be to get to a local DIY store and get a cork sanding block and cut it into the required thickness. Mix it with cork bark and you have even more options. Maybe.
