Could we have a Cheaper Shipping Option in the Coolmini store for contests.

I use to order the minis for every coolmini contest. Not only where they cool but even the shipping was fair. While I would love to take part in the current contest I must step down as the 5.00 fee is out of my budget.

I remember back in the day I use to only have to pay 2 or 3 bucks for shipping.

Would it be possible to have a cheaper option for those wanting to purchase just one of the contest figs?

You might want to check out the rates at www.usps.com. There\'s not a lot that CMON could do about what the post office charges.

For example, a 2oz (!) shipment by Priority mail alone is $4.60. And while it could be sent out 1st Class (a measly $0.97), you\'ve still got to buy the envelope and protection for what is inside.

And 1st Class doesn\'t allow packages to have confirmation delivery. That\'s a near must-have with online sales as unfortunately, there are enough people who\'ll claim they didn\'t get it to make First Class a lot more expensive than Priority Mail.

Now, it really pays off if you\'ve bought a lot, since its still just that $5. But I can understand why that sucks for one figure. So a little commiserating is in order:

Delivery confirmation is 18 cents on first class postage.
At least it is available for online shipping, not sure about in person.
But I ship alot and occassionally my buyer wants first class. So I know that Delevery confirmation is available.

OK I have to be Blunt here, if $5 is out of your budget then really the last thing you should be buying is Toy Soldiers.

Why is it do people think you cannot DC first class shipments. You can indeed if the packaging is large enough. I do it all the time with my E-bay items and sell many items.

Sometimes you do not want to upgrade to priorty.

As to the snarky comments about 5 bucks being too much for me. It is no, but I factor shipping into the cost of a figure when I buy it online and to me that puts the figure out of my range for what I need it for.

As for packing materials. How much does it cost for packing items. I pay 50 cents for card boxes and they protect the minis good enough. I just got my mini from Wyrd who use small cardboard boxes, it cost 147 to ship it and what 50 cents for the box. That was fair.

I use to order from Coolmini back in the day and they offered 1st class all the time.

I stand partially corrected I think. I\'ve run their online postage calculator with first class several times, and while \"confirmation of delivery\" is available, it\'s as certified mail at $2.65. Where is the $0.18 delivery confirmation available?

I\'m not trying to be snarky, just I\'d really like to know. Is it something tied with PayPal or eBay perhaps? If so, that may be something that\'s not available to the CMON shop.

EDIT: AHA! I just searched through the PayPal stuff I sent the last year. It was $0.14 on a May shipment I did. But then I found the $0.18 on their website. BUT! It doesn\'t seem to show up when I try to make an online shipment label. Doesn\'t even allow me to do First Class.

Therefore, I\'m hereby declaring the Post Office to suck. May it be so recorded.
