Amateurs...

Painted:

40K: Emperors Scythes, Space Wolves, Ultramarines, Ravenwing, Speedfreak Orcs, Imperial Guard Old School, Tallarn Desert Raiders, Eldar, Mutants/Lost and the Damned.

Warhammer: Orcs and Goblins, Wood Elves, Undead.

Epic: Orcs, Squats, Space marines, Eldar.

Unpainted: Witch Hunters/Demon Hunters, Legion of the Damned, Dwarfs, Warmaster Undead, Warmaster High Elves, Epic Tyrannids, Skaven, Mordheim undead, a heap of Space marines and Imperial guard, a heap of LOTR, steadily growing Dark age Forsaken, Clones of Dirz, Undead Archeon and Wolfen.

Then a massive amount of bits and bobs some of which would make up small armies.

So about 30, presuming I\'ve not forgotten anything...

Well I have my Dark Eldar army for 40K. For confrontation I have Dirz and Drunes. And that\'s it.

Yeah, I know, I suck :D

Well, I have a bunch of random Lotr stuff, and about 575,000 to 600,000 of those little cheap moria goblins.... Well, I guess more like 70.

40K

3500-4000 pt Witch Hunter Army ( Pure Sister Force with a few Inquisitors ) 90% Painted
3000-3500 pt Necron Army (My son\'s) 80% Painted
3000 pt Dark Eldar Army, still in the boxes, waiting for my Witch Hunters to be completed
2000 pt Daemon Hunter Army, still in the boxes, third on my list

LOTR

Let\'s put it like this, I think I have enough figures to do Pellinar Fields all by myself. Only about 10% Painted, mainly heroes and models of interest. I do have about 1000 pts of Men of Gondor and Army of the Dead that I game with painted, as well as 600 points of orcs and 15 warg riders. As for the rest, I have at least one of everything through the last release, no Scouring of the Shire yet...yet being the key word.

Misc.

Since I am and \"old timer\" I have a ton of D&D stuff that would look like crap when compared to today\'s models, but was top of the line back in the day. I have several cases and boxes full of lead minis, ranging from Grenadier, Citadel, Mini Figs, Prince August, Ral Partha, to name a few. I have all the Grenadier dragons (posted), a near complete set of Ral Partha Prehistoric figures, at least 10 -12 armies to play Battlesystems with ( first mini rules for fantasy invented by TSR ), that comprise of at least 1000-1500 figures with almost laughable painting levels, but they were fun to game with 20+ years ago.

Oh yeah, let me add, I stopped gaming between ages of 20 and 37, just imagine the numbers if I hadn\'t...

Why is it only GW stuff?

I don\'t know the rules for Wargods of aegyptus (or however its spelt/pronounced), but I got a whole load of stuff for xmas, so I might have enough....dunno!

For 40K I have one fully painted (and ever expanding) Necron army.

Warhammer I have Chaos, Bretonnian, Lizardmen and Ogre armies though I have not quite finished my Ogres.

Warhammer Ancient Battles I have an Early Imperial Roman Army and a Viking army also an unpainted Greek/Spartan army.

I have dozens of Rackhams minis though they are a random selection though I have enough for a good Wolfen Warband.

If anyone remembers Alternative Armies Firefight system I have a very good Crusader force.

Oh yes and my Mordheim Beastman Warband and my Chaos fleet for Man o War. This doesn\'t include the dozens and dozens of idividual unpainted minis still packaged up that I bought just because I liked them.
:D

I have never seen a fully painted Confrontation warband, nor any other 25+ model army from any manufacturer other than GW. Face it, a fully painted army of 100+ models is something to behold, and is most likely the inspiration someone needs to collect an army. So, you see GW, you buy GW. The arrival of Rag Narok might start to change that.

That could be changed:

This is my VOID army from half a year ago, right now it consists of 120+ finished models.

Awe inspiring!!! They\'re...just...beautiful (wipes tear from eye).

As for my armies, I have a WM Cryx army 80% painted, and probably have enough Khador to throw together a 500pt warband. As for WH, I have a whole lot of old stuff, and could probably throw together Vampire Counts and Orc armies, and maybe even a Chaos and Dark Elves army, all unpainted. I also have some Confrontation, so maybe could put together a Kelt group. I have enough Western Models to do a small scale Civil War skirmish, although I don\'t know of any \'Old West\' Tabletop army rules. I own close to 2000 minis, from just about every manufacturer. Except for my Cryx army, however, almost everything is unpainted! Oh, BTW, I don\'t game. Except for a little RPG that I fit in here and there my models are all virgins.

I guess that makes me an (obsessed) collector.

Which reminds me, I recently bought pretty much the entire range of Dark Elfs from Tidoco2222 and Propaintjob, I think I have about 8 of the regiment boxed sets... Now to get it shipped over here...

Actually its pretty silly, I think I need to do some painting.

Did someone call???

Well, this doesn\'t really count because I don\'t think in terms of armies.

Also, I don\'t like to think too closely about what and why I collect because it\'s probably very sad...:duh:

I suppose I collect manufacturers/genres, rather than armies. It\'s not really possible to quantify in a way that makes any sense... but, as an example, I would endeavour to try and collect one example of everything made by iKore/UrbanMammoth rather than one large VASA army etc.

I am not interested in gaming at all...I am very interested in painting however, but singularly untalented. I suppose I am just a devotee of the history of the hobby and miniatures in general:flip:

So what you are saying is that you could run a The Stuff of Legends if they ever go belly up;)

And, though this goes without saying. This is a most pleasant conversation(sooo nice not to have a major feud) we are having, and I am enjoying this thread immensely. If you only have 1 mini and you like him/her, tell us about it. Don\'t be shy. So far no one is jumping down the next guys throat.lollollol:rolleyes:lol

Vuture, that is truly awe inspiring. When and if I ever get to painting my dark eldar, your paint scheme is what I had envisioned. I hope you don\'t mind if I borrow from it, it is amazing!
