They're on ponies!!!! lol! How cute! Hey they're so small, just threaten them with a paint brush and they'll dive into the appropriate color. :D

Seriously tho, you can probably get away with a base coat, a couple of glazes and some highlights on the ponies but it depends what colors you want to paint them.

What a week :)

Dwarven army is finished

[Pic of badly painted 15mm dwarves that look ok on mass]

so yay.

My 2 boxes of Dwarf Kings Hold have arrived Undead Rising and Green Menace. The figures look great.

And got the Space Marines from Assault on Blackreach cleaned and undercoated.

So first things first, no pics because my dear mother has kidnapped my camera and taken it to spain. I need a new one anyway with an ok macro function on it, the pics never looked quite right on that one. Suggestions would be great (im UK remeber)

Secondly -- Space Marines, i have no idea what colour to do them. I thought Ultramarine and to just simply paint them like they are in the box for an easy life, or try to find a chapter into which i can incoporate the red battle damage armour article onto. But the problem with that is finding info for the markings and such. :( Not really ever played 40k, read the books though. Im doing it for my nephew hes 9 :)

If someone could suggest a nice bold colour scheme with a tutorial/guide for what goes where that would be fantastic.

In the future weeks ill be asembling and painting the mantic minis for Dwarf Kings Hold, got a nice selection of Dwarves, Skeletons, Orcs and Elves. The skeletons and elves have really impressed me as they are very slender and well sculpted.

Anyway going to go shoot things on Borderlands
Take care.

For your first horses you did a great job! You have a very solid foundation now. I really like them!

My first suggestion would be to work on neatness. Those things are tiny, tiny, tiny!!! So they are really tough! I struggle with neatness and accuracy too. As for a camera, it depends how much you have to spend. Perhaps try searching Ebay.uk. You're right when you say you need a macro setting. For right now one that is on close-out or on sale would probably work quite well for you.

Visit GW's website, they have articles on how to paint certain chapters. Also search the great wide interwebz - you will find a lot of sites with great info! Lexicanum is one that's fantastic!

Just a quick update, got my spacemarines started. The Tactical squad is all basecoated blue and im about to start the proper painting of it now.

All the other SM stuff out of Assault on blackreach is cleaned and undercoated.

Do have a quick question though, weapons, i see from the internet that the main bolters are now mainly metalic and they dont have the red housing on them. Can anyone tell me why this happened/why?

Cheers and ill get some photos up when there done, the camera is still in Calpe.

Another quick update since my last post things went well rather poopy :(

Trying to cope with depression has been a long and ongoing project of its own. Im hoping i should have some stuff to post in the near future though.

Ill be putting a post up else where as my paints seem to have seperated quite badly and im looking for the best way to reintegrate them :)

Im happy with the cloth and the bone needs some more work, going to do some highlighting and a wash see how it turns out. Ive a lot of these to do so as long as its ok for the table im happy.

Ive a couple of models I want to look really nice, but ill show them of later. Just getting the brushes to work again atm.

Nice job flexing those brush muscles again! I hear ya - don't paint for a little while and it can be tough to get back into the groove. The cloth does look nice! It also looks like you're reviving your paint well too.

Thanks for the kind words :)

Right having looked at the pics ive noticed i missed bits of cloth. I am the only person who does this? You are there 5 inches from the model and yeah thats all done move on to the next and then when the photo is taken and you look at it a day later your like, how did i miss that~??????

Anyway its raining a lot today so no natural light so i doubt ill be painting. But i do have a stack of paper buildings to cut out and glue (world works games) for our All Things Zombie game on Friday.

Tata all o/

Throw a nice brown wash over the bones, and give a light highlight of bleached bone/menoth white/off white and call it a day!

Really like how the bone has turned out on these. My hope was to get an aged bone look, these guys have meant to have been in some old tombs for ages.

Next thought is the metal, do i try and make a rusty effect or not. Was thinking natural steel then some kind of red/orange wash and a copper drybrush for highlight, any thoughts on that?

Ah well had a lucky escape the other day thanks to my good freind. Had got into a rut worrying about how to do the rust so that i wasnt doing anything :( So today ive just made a start on them. Atm they have VMC Natural Steel over all metal. Thats drying completely then ill badab wash then stipple with some brown and orange see how it goes. \o/

Photos later today.
