Cracks appearing in sculpt after baking, HELP!

Hey all, I've been working on a sculpt the last week or so and its been going great till today. I'm working with sculpy and I've been baking it at around 150 degrees farenheit opposed to the reccommended 275, its been baked probably 15+ times and was fine till today when i took it out and discovered a split had appeared from the base of its neck all the way to the tailbone. The problem is easily fixable but I am now afraid to bake it anymore. I'm wondering if my heat is to high for continual baking or if maybe the armature is twisting inside and causing it to crack, whatever the cause any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Am I hooped or is there a solution so I can continue.

Cheers, Shakes.

15+ bakes is really pushing the medium to the extreme! I don't think there's anything much you can do to help once this has started (although I've heard of people slathering on diluent); even if further work is confined to an area and the rest of the piece could be shielded in foil it might simply have gone too far for it to be safe.

I would suggest aiming to bake far fewer times than this, if necessary switching to an epoxy for latter additions.
