Creating montages - a problem thereof...

I\'m finally getting to grips with taking snaps of my minis, and single images are fine.

The problem begins when I attempt to create montages with PS (or indeed any other one I\'ve tried) - I stick things together fine, but after saving the finished image, the whole thing seems to shrink in size (i.e a vertical montage) terribly, and is almost useless to see any details at all.

Basically, I\'m out of my depth here and I\'m just wondering if there\'s something really really daft I\'m doing.

Thanks guys.

Try this:
Montage Tutorial....

Create a blank document that\'s the size you want your montage to be when finished, then add your minis. If you view \'Actual Pixels\' in Photoshop, it\'ll appear the same size as when you post to CMON (asuming you don\'t go over the 200k limit or make it too wide!)

Most screens are set at 800 X 600 pixels. When you make your montage in PS set the ruler settings to pixels and not inches. You may be making your images too small and not even knowing it. To do this press CTRL + R which should bring up the rulers around the edges of your workable area. Then right click in the ruler area and select pixels. From there make your image about 600 X 600(or less) and when you are done making your montage click on File and scroll done to \"save for web\" which will automate everything in the image so that it is set up for the internet. Hope this helps!

You might be, but we all start somewhere :)

I\'d recommend trying to get used to working in pixel dimensions for pictures you intend to post online. That way right through the whole process you know how big the image will be on screen. Resolution is essentially irrelevant here - 600 pixels wide is 600 pixels wide, regardless of whether you\'re working at 300ppi or 72ppi.

When you\'re doing a montage I presume you\'re saving the in-progress document as a PSD file? That way if something goes wrong just at the end you still have all the original information to go back to.
