Custom Decals

I really want to do something to set my DA army apart from the rest of the Sp. Marines crowding the tables these days. One idea is to use a sucessor chapter of the DAs, problem is, I would rather use a water slide decal for the shoulder markings then spend time painting them on (a meticulous process suitable for individual \"show\" minis, but not for tact squads and large army painting!) Has anyone had their own decals printed up? I found a website wher you can print your own using inkjet paper at modeldecal.com/inkjet_paper.html
I think this would be a very cool idea, and want to know what anyone else thinks.

never heard of printing decals but it sounds cool if it works. lemme know how it turns out. that could really be used to make some fun ones. i print my own banners when i really got into it as i cant freehand color paintings nearly as well as computer coloring and they turn out pretty nice. had to use some thicker paper for double side printing though......

This is just the stuff that I have been looking for and I will be buying some of this here in the near future for my miniatures. I\'ve got a ton of ideas but my freehand isn\'t all that great but I can see applications for tattoos, shields, cloaks ... whatever.

I am producing my own line of fantasy decals. Am planning other lines (40K) in the VERY near future. See the link in signature.

Testors sells blank wet decal paper that you can run through your printer and make your own. (I assume that your injet is waterproof ink?) I ran some through Kinko\'s color laser just to be sure.

No, they are a model (cars/airplanes/etc. styrene) and paint company. BUT, I found the blank decal paper in my Wall Marx in the arts & crafts section - go figure?

found this at tower hobbies (model airplane guys)

also, do a google search on decal paper.

There\'s a company/indy retailer caller \'griffon games\', they have a website (sorry, havent got it to hand). He does an Angels of Vengance decal and a few others. Nice guy too!

Should be easy enough to find with a good search engine :)
