Thank you all for the kind words :)
Really boosts up the motivation ^^

Here comes the next update of the weekend progress.
Luckily I manged to snap off the sword without breaking anything ^^ The backside of the sword I wanted to paint seperately since a lot of places were hidden and hard to reach with the brush.
I also could further test my new Scale colors and I have to say I really like the vibrancy of the colors. A real life friend of mine once criticised that most my minis look kinda muted, not colorful enough -.- ^^
Take that one xD

Thanks both of you.

Yes the Scale is a tiny bit smaller then "regular" Warhammer Figures. But not that much.

Here's an update on what happened over the week.

I painted the sword in bone colors but added some green and purple glazes to make it look more interesting and alien. Bt I kept it quite dark to not drwa the fokus point away from the mini.
I also painted the cut off head. I tried to "BAM it up" a bit ^^ :D

Photos didn't really catch the sword color and the blood is nearly black :/
The blood was made with GW-Blood for the Blood God so its quite red and shiny in reality :/

All thats missing is the small armor part on her right arm and the base. There's a good chance I might be able to finish her this weekend :)

Amazing work! I'm taking notes as fast as I can :)

The only thing I can say is that blade looks mightily clean for having just chopped some girl's head off!! :p

The thing is, I can't really imagine how she did it at all with that sword xD ^^
The only way I can imagine this "sword" to be used is smashing someone's head in like with a baseball bat ... :\

And some freehand from the bottom of the skirt

I really thought about something like that already ^^
Was thinking about about some filigree gold ornaments. What really bothered me was that the middle of the skirt is a negative fold in the shadows and it's very curvy in general.
Although it's a pretty experimental piece (since I tried my new colours on this one) I'm now at that point again where I'm afraid to screw it up xD

But you're right. That skirt literally cries for some kind of freehand :/ ^^ -> Why didn't they mold something on there ? xD
Guess I'll have to start some research for some motives for inspiration/copy paste matirial :)

Luckily you already gave a lot of good tips for freehands in your own WIPs so yeah I'll try it -> hyped with a great portion of ridiclious overconfidence \o/

Really appreciate all your feedback guys! Great to see that in times of blogs, facebook and what not else, there are still great and vivid forum communities :)

Great job creating a cruel murderous elf pin-up. I definitely see the Jen Haley comparison. I think it’s the cold shadows. Anyway, she looks beautiful!

Thanks for all the comments again :)

As a "reward" some new pics from what happened yesterday ^^

Yuou could google for "corner pattern" or "celtic corner pattern" images.

Damn was too fast ^^
I looked up some dark elves artworks and tried to copy a pattern but screwed it up ^^
So I painted the second goldrim on top to cover up the mistakes -.-

Not sure whether I should paint the left over black lines between the gold rims gold as well. Although I kinda like the black a bit.

For next freehand experiments I'll probably order some flow improver. I tried kitchen soap but it didn't flow/cover as well as I wished it would.
Or I jsut need more training ^^ xD

For the base I'll tra to add some snow (another first time experiment ^^ ) and add some pigments here and there to breaqk up the uniform stone color.

Personally, I like the gold trim on the bottom and the black between the gold just adds some more pattern to it. Nicely done
