D&D minis in Canada

Okay I know they aren\'t popular here, which is very understandable, put personally I find the prepainted D&D minis great for my roleplaying games. There is no way I could paint up 15 Kobolds, 8 Goblins, 2 Guard Drakes, a Cloaker and An infernal stalker by Saturday night, but I can easily field these minis if I have the right set of D&D minis.

The problem is finding the right D&D minis at a good price. For some reason there seem to be tons of great shops online in the US for buying sets and singles, but I can\'t find anything good in Canada. I would just order from the States but the shipping is killer and I then have to worry about customs and potential duty and import fees.

Does anyone know a good site to get D&D minis up here in the Great White North?

Gilvan, ain\'t you got any friends South of the Border?
Surely the words \"Unsolicited Gift\" on the customs declaration would get past the duty issue.........NOT that I\'m suggesting trying to stop any lawful Govt collection of revenue...*cough choke splutter*

Unfortunatley no. I don\'t know anyone states side well enough to have packages shipped to them. Even if I did though I would be paying double shipping, one from whatever company to whoever\'s address and another to get them to ship to me. That would most likely offset any savings in cost and shipping.

I\'ve actually found a couple US sites that it may be worth ordering from but I would have to order a lot of minis for it to be worth it, like $100 worth at a time. Unfortunatley I work in the Automotive industry and a spare $100 is impossible to come by at this time.

Gilvan, there are two places that I know of that may have what you want.
The first is The Sentry Box. It is like walking into nerd heaven to actually go to the store.
The second is the Mission Fun and Games web store. The actual store is packed to the rafters with all maner of cool geeky items.
I believe (but am unsure) that either place will special order items they do not have in stock, although they would probably want a deposit/prepayment for non-stock items.
Cheers

Your link for Mission Fun and games linked to Boardgames.ca. Is this correct?

Sentry box doesn\'t seem to sell D&D minis, at least not ont thier webstore.

Yes, the Mission Fun and Games web store is BoardGames.ca
My current mini \'experience\' is limited to GW and Privateer Press (War Machine) and I thought D&D minis were by WotC (Wizards of the Coast), but I have not played D&D since the mid 80\'s so I may be way out in left field. If they are not by WotC, who does make them? or at least the ones you are interested in? ???

They are made by Wizards of the Coast, but the WotC minis listed on those sites are the old Chainmail miniatures. Since those were released the D&D mins that are out now are all pre-painted plastic minis that pretty much look like crap. The one good thing though is they are pretty cheap and they are ready to be used right away.
