:mad:yes. I’m sure starving children around the world are grateful that their souls are being saved, never mind their bodies....but don\'t mind me I\'m just a Witch..you know, handmaiden to Satan:p

I\'m a flaming fundamentalist. But that is just wrong.
:flame:

I\'ve played D&D since the 70\'s. I\'ve managed to have a weekly game at a church\'s youth center in the 80\'s. I have no doubt that D&D inspires creativity, not demon worship.

Excuse me while I go off and rant a bit. I thought we were over all of this when we sent some of those TV personallities to prison where they belonged.

None taken. And I am sorry if you thought you had. You didn\'t offend me. They did.

Their \"Holier-Than-Thou\" attitude is just wrong.

I am glad that Origins supported Make a Wish. They do some wonderful things. One of the fishing guides here took a sick kid and his dad out fishing for a day. Cost the guide a days work and fuel, but the rewards were priceless.

wow, so much stupidity :flame:

@Airhead: I´m not christian. i didn´t read the bible , but aren´t there these parts about \"treat me as i treat the lowest of my brothers \" and \"Charity\" ??? Do this guys even read the book or is it just a convenient mena to judge people that don´t fit into their narrow world view.

stupid hippochristians

yea, \"love thy neighbor.\"

I like the term \"hippocristians.\" Mind if I use it?

In the sermon on the mount. Jesus got the loaves and fishes from the crowd, blessed and multiplied them. That gift did not come from a \'saved\' source, but from a little boy who was hungry for the truth and had a desire to give.

I\'ll be back later, gotta go write an email.... ;)

@airhead: of cause not ;)

i got it from the TV show weeds, but don´t ask me what episode - completely forgot it.

It´s the best term i have ever heard to describe exactly this kind of people. I think real christians would have gratefully excepted the money on behalf of the kids and said something like \" we know it´s just a hobby and we know that the player are mature and clever enough to know the difference between fiction and reality and do not really believe in the gods of their fictive worlds \"

oh and by the way: we got the financial crisis. And still there are people out there willing to donate money to those who need it even more. This is smethign every charity organisation should keep in mind .

sorry for the litle rant, just something i had to get off my chest

I\'m with Airhead on this one. I\'m Christian, and it amazes me that some people still do this. Before we recently moved, my entire D&D game was Christians. We all had a really good time, and no one at church even blinked about it.

I have a feeling that this issue is less about morality and more about trying to *appear* righteous. (Grumble grumble)

Quick response:

Dear Mr. xx,

Thank you for contacting us through our website.

Christian Children\'s Fund made the decision to decline the gift from Gen Con, LLC as the request presented to us gave the appearance that CCF (the organization) was an endorser or supporter of a gaming convention, which CCF was not. As many non-profit organizations, CCF is selective in its endorsements or support in order to maintain the integrity of its name and logo. We cannot lend our name to an event for which we have no involvement. This decision should in no way be interpreted as CCF holding an opinion on Mr. Gygax, gaming enthusiasts or the game Dungeons and Dragons.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concern.
So I asked them if a Bass Fishing Tourney raised $10k and offered it to them, would they accept it?
