Da Orange Krush (Update 2/25) Waaagh gets weird!

@matt: Yeah, they were my first attempts at scratchbuilding, and though I wanted them slimmed down from the GW Kans, I think I overachieved on that count. As you can see the second one is a tad bit bigger than the first and the next will be slightly larger still.

I have also limited the pallette to the same colors as the rest of the boyz.

I\'ve not commented on all this so far as I wasn\'t too keen on the Kans at first. I thought they looked too small and spindly. Now that you have them up with the other Orks you can get a better sense of the scale and I think they fit in nicely.


What I really want to ask is: have you actually painted the skin on all the Orks orange? My wierd colourblind eyes are automatically making them look green as my brain over-rules them. If I concentrate I can kind of make them look orange but it\'s giving me a headache.



A better question would be: If they are green then how the hell am I making them look orange ???

At the risk of padding my post count, anyone got a link to good barrels? Where did you get yours Undave? I seem to remember GW making some, but they don\'t come by themselves (I think).

The bikes are lookin great. And those kommandos are awesome I been thinkin of doin some inspired by those as well tho I got enough to do they\'ll be a ways down the road, I love the one holding up the cut out of a space marine waving it always makes me chuckle. You could do one disguised as a soda machine keep with the theme ya got goin

GW accessory sprue has like 3 barrels on it and a bunch of crate/stuff. its 10 bucks. not so bad for gw

They come on the Gorkamorka battlefield accessory sprue. You get 3 and some tank traps which are actually quite useful for Orky conversions.

I dont know if this had been mentioned already, but Tamiya has barrels in its Military Miniatures line. They are 1/35 and you get 6 barrels and 16 jerry cans. I think I got it for less than $10.

Squadron Signal has the Tamiya Jerry Cans/Barrells set for 5 bucks plus shipping last time I checked.
