I am starting to put together a tzeentch/slaanesh daemon force for the new daemon army
but i want to use the models for 40k and fantasy.

is there any rules about using square bases in 40k or round ones in fantasy?

what bases do people recommend?
which models use which bases?

please help before i start basing an army and it cant be used.

hope someone can shed some light on my problem here

You need round bases for 40k deffinately. The models move individually and having different sized or shaped bases has a direct effect on things like template weapons and close combat. If you want to use them for both systems mount them on round bases. You\'ll find that a 40k base will fit into a 25mm square base exactly. The clever bit is that, because units move en mass in fantasy, if you can manufacture a movement tray to keep your round bases in formation it won\'t matter what shape they are because the unit as a whole will be exactly the right dimensions.

A good place to get suitable, custom made movement trays is Litko. The skirmish trays on the link are an example of the stuff they can do. If you want a correctly sized unit you\'ll need to have the holes cut closer together. Look around on the site for the custom trays option.

I\'m actually really glad you asked this question as I\'ve only just thought of all this to answer this post. I think I\'ll be stealing my own idea for my daemon army that I hadn\'t planned on getting but now it looks like I am....

...on second thoughts WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME WANT ANOTHER ARMY? :cussing:

because the daemons are so amazing!

ive always liked chaos but not had any because i dont like the warriors or marines. daemon only is great.

what about the larger daemons being on round bases for fantasy?

Again as long as you can make a square \"tray\" for the round base to fit into then you\'re fine.

The best bit about litko is that you get all the round bits that come out of the holes so you don\'t even need to buy plastic bases.

Actually no, the best bit is the lovely burnt wood smell mmmmm.
