Dwarf already looks good to me. That is how you guys impress me though. You always add that little bit more to it.

Thanks Digganob :)

The dwarf is done, except for a couple of coats of varnish (and any small errors I find before tomorrow). The metals, especially the gold, really sucks, because I only have Game Color metals to work with and they are extremely annoying to use. I've got to get hold on some GW metals asap.

If you notice any spills or misplaced paint let me know so I can get it fixed.

Well now that you mention it I do see a few crumbs in his beard. Might want to have him comb that out before shipping. All seriousness though very crisp and clean and inspiring. What do the runes say?

You can't expect a dwarf, who has just been disturbed during lunch by damn greenskins, to not have a few crumbs in his beard.

as far as I can tell the runes are just gibberish. The back spells R-P-A-P-S-L-P (old English runes) and the front have a few that aren't in that runic alphabet. I'm sure there's some inside Games Workshop joke hidden there somewhere.

Ok Ill give you that one. I wonder if the Dwarf Codex has a runic alphabet in it, I shall get to the bottom of this good sir. Of course I could translate it in Skaven very easily :p

No you don't have to, Vallejo Airbrush Metals are far superior and smoother.
If you're finding them difficult to obtain where you live drop me a PM and we'll work something out.

At a loss for what to paint next (my unpainted stash isn't that big), I finally decided to do one more of the Rackham Confrontation minis I got from cfwheeler. This time I chose Eclipsante (2) as it seemed like a good mini to try out NMM once again. Her big ass sword screams for something special.

I got her cleaned and pinned together, but while doing a little filling with green stuff, she unfortunately tipped over and the weird blade sticking out from her jaw broke off. This didn't tear me up too much though, as I found it a bit ridiculous anyway.

I've also given her a coat of primer and a bit of white for zenithal highlights, but you will have to wait until later for pics.

As for colours I was thinking cream white for her fur and red/brown for her clothes. The base is probably going to be dominated by greens, so I think that should fit well. The grey NMM should give a nice contrast to the warm fur and clothes. If I am completely off the mark about this, let me know. I still haven't delved too deep into colour theory for minis.

What do you mean by NMM. Noob question I know. One of my biggest problems with painting is color theory. It's always been lets paint this that color instead of planning it out.

Ahhh! Why is everyone painting these wolfen up? I have a similar one with two daggers and yeah, some kind of blade strapped to her face (WTF?). I like the colors you have chosen it's a very neutral palette. Should work quite well. Digga NMM is Non Metallic Metal. Basically using greys or browns to create a reflective looking metal or gold or copper etc with a very high contrast range of tones.

But I thought that was what silver and gold colored were for. Lol. Good luck is all I can say. Very interested to see how it comes out.

So am I Digganob ;-)

The reason for choosing this mini Zab, is that it was the most interesting one in my stash, which isn't that big.
