Damn RANGE ROVER'S!!!!

Ok i do not have a problem with people who own Range rover's, no no. My problem is with the Range Rover Vogue owner's. On the motorway today i was cut up 3 different time's by 3 different people in range rover vogue's.....

You could tell by looking at them they were not going home to climb difficult terrain with. These " off roader's" were for picking up little sally and jane after school. This extends to many other 4x4's im sure.

PS
Cassar this is not aimed at you, your rover probbly has a winch, and chains for the tyre's. MANLY

It's the same problem with those H2 Hummers and those H3 Hummers. Insecure people who want to exert their inner giant on the road buy these frivolous vehicles when they're not going to use them for their true abilities. And they waste boatloads of gasoline, have difficult parking them without taking up multiple spaces, and encourage certain people to employ far too aggressive driving tactics.

I have a name for these people. Fascist Soccer Moms. There's a ton of them here in Alabama with HUGE vehicles. I can't tell you how many I've seen in giant Pick-up trucks. Guess how many have anything in the bed of the truck.

AARGHHHH!!!!!

I duno man, if I lived in the south i'd make sure my pickup was always full of piggies and I had a shotgun rack wedged full.
If these aren't compeling reasons to let me secure a visa, I don't know what is!

Seriously though, it's a pet hate of mine too.
"We need to ferry a couple of little people a few hundred yards...We're gonna need a big f**king truck for the job" WHY?!
AND WHY, Mr or Mrs urban hotshot, do you need a vehicle more suited to offroading when you'd shit a brick at the prospect of even parking on the grass or going up a curb?! (Moreso because of the fact you might chip something or get your nice shiny vehicle dirty)....( You should all be lined up against a wall and shot with a ball of your own shit...)

BMWs and Merc 4x4 are the worse I think. There is no way that you'd ever see one of these in the dirt. I've got a Land Rover Discovery and whilst it's a bloody big vehicle it's immensely useful and I often use it for towing a digger, a 2.5 tonne trailer or a boat, none of which you could do with anything else really. I just came back from Cornwall, which is a 700 mile round trip, towing a boat and used less than £100.00 worth of diesel, which I think isn't too shabby and certainly not as planet-destroying as suggested. The worse vehicles are sports cars.... I mean wtf is the point, they have no utility beyond going fast and consume pointless amounts of fuel - certainly a frivalous vehicle (and definitely where the ire of the masses should be directed imo).

For the record.... anything with the Land Rover badge rocks :p including Range Rovers :D

have to say if you have a 4x4 use it as god intended, thats not to say you shouldnt use it for everyday stuff like picking up the kids (it gives a higher perspective on the yummie mummies), the other day i chopped down a tree in my back garden then dug out (apologies grammar police for the lack of mine lol) the stump as much as i could before backing up the rangey and rippin that sob clean out of the ground, dont think the 5 series would have done it some how. also there is a traffic system up here that confuses some of the retards on todays roads something fierce, i take great pleasure it must be said in intimidating the hell out of these numpty's by, well, lets just say a supercharged v 8 in extremely close proximity takes up a lot of space in your rear view mirror. also if you rev the engine then turn the ignition off and on the resulting explosion can cause heart failure in the elderly and infirm (make sure your manifold can take it though).

Range Rovers have gone from tweed and wax jacket to gold teeth and a 9mm in the last 20 years. Great cars, but they're too blinged out and very often driven by tosspots.

In fact they should just call it a Range Rover Bling. Or a Range Rover Innit.

Never disputed the quality but I hate people with four wheeled drive who never use it. Also those massive navarros and other assorted
monsters seem so pointless. I have only ever seen one used properly (he lived in my street and was often ferrying round loads of canoes and assorted sports equipment)

Once saw a car like that hitting a speed bump in the Netherlands, Shawn. I helped that poor, brainless bugger carry the majority of his car's leftovers off the street so I could go on driving. But that's no uncommon sight here in Germany or the Netherlands, the youth here is pimping any car, no matter what it looks like afterwards, ranging from loud and noisy exhausts to lowering a car so far that you can't even pass a speed bump anymore... Not even very slowly. Yikes.

Oh and btw, sports car / sports car convertibles are a pleasure to drive on the Autobahn, Beelzebrush, and they have a good mileage/gallon if your willing to spend some money.

I guess you can't judge people by the car they are driving... But I've found out that drivers of certain car types often behave similar. E.g.: Sports cars drive way too fast and reckless and 4x4 drivers treat their cars like tanks, slowing others down and driving overly insecure because they can't work with a car that big.
In Germany it's mostly the sports cars though, they always try to push you when driving on the Autobahn. My worst experience was with a BMW closing in on me when I was already driving 230km/h, coming so close that when I had to slow down he touched my car. I almost lost controll over my car and, hell, I was so angry I followed him to the next gas station and punched him in the face...
Sorry, I got carried away, what I really wanted to say is: It's a shame when people missuse their cars or drive one they can't handle.

got a new car shawn?
Actually yes I do. So 'un-bling' that I had to add some red striping to it so I could find it in a parking lot! Do you have any idea how freakin' many little white Japanese four doors there are out there?!
The weird thing about having such over the top tricked out vehicles is that the thrill does wear off and it just becomes your ride. Not that it was anything fit for the showroom but my first car was a BEAUTIFUL little blue 62 Ford Falcon/Futura with slotted U.S. mags, and jacked up just a touch, it too was just a way to get from here to there which would have taken a lot to trick out and KEEP IT that way. Other things were just higher on the priority list. Cant believe how much dough people are willing to POUR into some of these things!

I think that's true of most people (not all though) and there are lots of parallels with other things too - you get something high-end and after a while it's just that thing you own/use, not that expensive thing you own/use.
