OK guys, another one by me... as I said on the mini itself, he was a rush job to get him done for my dad\'s birthday, but i thought i\'d share as I was happy with the red armour :D

Brilliant...

...love that armour! ;) I\'ve been doing a lot of maroony/red armour recently, what recipe did you use for this? I usually use black base through scab red to bronzed flesh high lights as I find this gives a nice (but not camp!) pinkness. On some pieces just up to the scab red looks good,a muted effect.Great work, bet your Dad\'ll be chuffed! Cheers :D

I think my dad\'s in GW Shrewsbury right this minute playing fantasy and showing off the mini... :D

If anyone asks, apparently a \'mate of his son\' sculpted it... :innocent:

Very, very nice armour. The sword ends up looking a little under done in comparison, but I suspect this is more a camera focus issue than painting issue.

Nice dark red.
I\'ve been adding Chaos Black to Reaper\'s Blood Red. It\'s not as purply as GW\'s reds. I add in some Reaper Ember (I think) which is a light orange, to make it look less pink in the highlights.
I like your armor colors like they are thought. I wouldn\'t change it. :)

I like the mini and the red armour is great, as is the overall paintwork. Pretty damn fine painting for a rush job.

Voted and commented. I couldn\'t help myself, I took one look at the middle pic and thought that his face looks just like Leonard Nimoy. Now, in my mind, he\'s the Evil Medieval Vulcan.

darn...

I voted and commented earlier, but now on a different monitor, I wish I\'d voted higher.

I gave you a nine, but in my comment I said 8 for the paint +1 for including your Dad....

I should\'ve been a 10...Oh well, just my little vote. Great stuff Peter.
