Hi,

I hope this is the correct place to post this cause I usually put up all my work in the WIP secton.

This is something I have been working on for the last week or so, as i\'m sure you will all know the basic model is the Space Marine Master of the Arsenal, I was originally going to just paint him without any conversion work then I started getting a few ideas for him and this is where it has ended up :)

The idea behind the model is that brother Varsin is claiming this ancient Eldar relic in the name of the emperor having just defected an Eldar Wraithlord (hence the broken wraithlord parts)

The base is completely hand made using milliput and a lathed piece of wood.

For the dark Angels banner I used part of the High Elves chariot banner along with a few parts from the Master of The Ravenwing boxset and an old plastic spear.

I hope you guys and gals like it, please let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

nitpicking

mold line on the misle launcher
I would have added abit more to the banner so that it was resting on the ground.
also think that I would have had the compete Wraithlord model on the base to show that he defeted it and that it is the remains from some other fight. (I\'m guessing that you had a couple of extras floating in the bitz box)
And what are the names on the back of the banner. I\'m guessing that they are fallen squad mates, but I\'m not sure that crossing the name out would be something that a marine would do (M2C)

I must be going blind in my old age I never even noticed the mould line.. lol

I would have liked to do the whole of a wraithlord but like you say i onlyhad a few spare parts left.

My idea for the names on the back is that Brother Varsin was originally part of a squad of Space Marines made up of the members on the back of the banner and now only Varsin remains hence the the crossed out names.

I like it, I especially like the green on the marine, i think the base is a little overwhelming for the mini but only slightly, a little more of the defeated wraithlord would have been nice but if that is all you had then fair enough, over all bit of work there mate.

The concept here is excellent and the use of bits is fine, but I think a bit more battle damage to the post fight detritus would serve to clarify the scenario. Also damage to the background would add to this as well. I also have to agree that extending the banner to the ground would work better. In lieu of crosing out the names, making them in black or red may serve the same purpose and be more in line with a SM\'s character, venerating them rather than a simple statement of \"they are gone\".

I decided to use some of the suggestions that you guys have made and have made a few changes to this model (hopefully for the better)

First I added some debris and blast holes to the terrain and pillar then I added some spent bullet casings to give the impression that the battle was recent.

As most of you suggested I extend the banner pole I thought it was best that I did ;) I also added a few bullet holes to the banner & I did as Thunderhawker suggested and wrote the dead Marine names in red rather than crossing them out.

I tried to do some battle damage to the Space Marine armour but am not really that happy with how it came out.

Finally I decided to change the colour of the inside of the cloak as I thought the red didn\'t look quite right.

Again any comments good or bad will be appreciated.

Thanks for looking.
