Dark Apostle Black Wind, Fire And Steel! - GD France...

Ho Di Ho!

Here you have my Entry for the French Games Day in Paris 2007... :)...

I was lucky enough to get Bronze for it, I am very happy...:)...

Some 10 days ago I got on my secret mission... I got to the city of Love, Kitsch Souvenirs, Mouse De Pampelmuse and Pickpockets... Paris...

The French GD was just about to begin so I had the idea to visit and say hello to my French and Spanish Friends...:)...

After some 10 Days of really hektik planning, material gathering and nightly painting I managed to do something quite good (as Jeremie would probably say...:D...)...

This is a commision work and due to the fact, that I had not expected any win I thought about beating Two flies with one slap... (...)...

However, this is a total conversion... A Dark Apostle of the World Bearers on a nice Ride... a turbined Jetbike - Harley - Monster... The customer wished to have a leader of his army plus a Guard on Bikes, so there was the idea to have a Conversion of the Master Of The Ravenwing with flames and all the nice stuff that makes him look pretty cool...^_^...

There is a track written by Manowar called \"Black Wind, Fire And Steel\", and because I have seeen it on a Concert lately I was thinking about that all the time I did the Mini...^_^... I chose to change the exact Title in French because I thought it sounded more melodical...

I sculpted some parts on that, enough to know that I have to sculpt even more...:)... The Cursed Crozius consists of 6 parts from different Systems and Armies, with it a part of the Limited Edition Valten...

It was very time consuming to file down the meathead of this guy (for example...)...

As for the paintjob I tried to use some of the things Jeremie Bonamant taught us in Berlin in his Workshop... I am not toooo satisfied with the NMM Silver plus Gold, but hey, it was a try, so I will improve hopefully...:)...

Sadly I had problems with time schedule, so I didn´t managed to hide the pin nicely... all in all I hate to show those pins, but in this case it would be difficult to hide it somehow because of the movement of the bike (a pergament would have to move rapidely backwards...)... well, next time...:)...

Good, enough of this, now the pictures...

Lé Front...

Side of the Cursed Crozius...

The Energy Claw... it is the Claw of the new Chaos Champion, just without the Space Marine Head in it... The Skull is a bitz...

Here you might see the shadow effect of the NMM... maybe...:D...

The additional Bitz are taken from the Chaos Vehicle Additional Parts Sprue...

Some Closeup...

His funny book... he sure has something to do while riding...^_^...

The Burning Skull ´o Doom...:D...

Here you see the effect on the Armour due to the Flames...

I did all the sculpting with Brown Stuff... Hopefully it´s not raining where he rides...;)...

The Base, to be or not to be... The Skull should have some more \"bone buddies\"...

...

The Tag... Vivé Lé France...:)...

The Winning Category was \"Chevalier ou Monstre\"...

CONGRATULATIONS for all winners, especiately for my Spanish and French Friends, but also to the One from Russia, Austria and of course my Friends Ben and GeOrc, which came along me...:)... Greetings to the Danish, Swedish, English, American and Polish Painters tooo...:)...

Thank you Jeremie for organising all this...:)...

It was a great time and I am happy that I was able to meet all you guys (Adrian, Jeff, Joe, Alfonso, David², Allan aaaand so on...:)...)...

Please feel free to comment on it...:)...

Wow, just wow. Critisism: You left a mouldline on the top of the wing thing on the back part of the bike. thats about it really.

Very nice indeed! It\'s not perfect - I feel that your NMM is a little rough in some places, the freehand on his leg is not as good as on the book, and his face is a bit off, and especially the cables on the back of his head - but the pictures you\'ve shown here are really big, and any mini would look flawed like that. Kudos for showing such close-up pics :) The fire is absolutely FANTASTIC, the best I\'ve ever seen, and the whole thing works together so well! :) The conversion is amazing, and the result is incredibly dynamic.

Congrats on another awesome piece and another Demon

Hehe, yeah, I thought you can´t see everything on a 600 Pixel wide Pic, so I choose to make them bigger... now they are INCREDIBLY big... If you want to make them see as in real you are free to make it smaller, until the base on your Monitor measures 60 mm... that should create a realistic image...

I reckon right, that if I painted since I was born, every day for 30 years, I might be able to do something half this good :)

Excellent piece squire! 10 big ones.

Really cool. Love the concept and execution! The colours are amazing and the conversion is incredibly dynamic!

I have some points of improvement though, except the noted moldline. :)

I think the lavabubbles should be more integrated to the lava, they look a bit more like pearls then bubbles imo

Secondly I think the NMM could use some more shading and on some places some more brightspots. I love the gold colour but NMM generally looks more convincing imo with less midtones and more deep shadows/highlights.

Just some minor nitpicking. Great stuff and congratulations on your award!
