Hey guys, really liked the feedback I've been getting and my fiance wanted to know what you thought of her painting skills and what areas she can improve on. So far she's painted the following:

Dark Elf Corsairs (her latest work)
http://www.coolminiornot.com/310957

Dark Elf Dragon
http://www.coolminiornot.com/308470

Dark Elf Warriors
http://www.coolminiornot.com/307578

Sorceress (Now given hair to match the corsairs)
http://www.coolminiornot.com/307441

She started last christmas so these four cover the first six months of her painting warhammer. She'd really enjoy getting some feedback on her strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully you think she's improving! Cheers

Well, I'd say it going pretty darn well.

Some things to work on would be contrast and thinning the paint a bit more.

Also, making sure all the mold lines are cleaned up.

I'd say thin down your paints more and use more layering. Your off to a great start imho. The dragon was probably my favorite and the color scheme was bad ass. The color transitions looked pretty good too.

We're both aiming to get an 8 by the end of the year and were hoping to be at around a 7 now, but are both averaging around a 6.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've recieved the same feedback about thinning the paint, i've started adding water to the worst offenders. The new gw paints dry out so fast :/

Moe - she said she loves you ;)

Looks pretty good. The wings on the dragon are particularly great.

One thing i would do is to get the liquid greenstuff from GW and fill out the gaps on the larger models where the parts fit together.

If you have issues with paint thickness and drying times, fix up a wetpallete it really helps.

Yeah the wings were where she first started and they are by far my favorite part of the model.

We have some of the liquid green stuff, I was using it the other day in fact. I didn't notice any gaps, but I didn't notice there were mold lines until pointed out earlier so I will keep my eye for them and remind here as well with any new models. She's working on a wayland game dark elf chariot right now (not sure how it's all going to attach right now so it's a point to look out for!) and a Magewrath Throne to paint and she's finished everything I bought her lol.

We paint straight out of the pot right now, but I found a website from a CMON painter the other day that said how to make a wetpallete so I might give it a go :) I wasn't sure it would work with gw paints as they dry so fast so i dismissed it. Cheers!
