I\'ve been waiting to see more examples of this mini. Awesome paintjob, Albert! I do think there could have been more contrast between the colours - the near-brown purples and greens do little to add interest to the colours. However, the colours fit the subject very, very well. Stunning metals. :)

Voted & commented. Liked it very much but would have prfered to see a little very simple & understated freehand on the cloak. :)

Its truely a bueatful piece of art and deserving of a 10.

Sweeeet. Very good job. Nothing else to say cause I cant see how you could do it better. Did the vote thing.

Can this justify anything less that a full 10, i think not.

As you know Albert i think this is great, amazing mood and atmosphere as always, and combined with prefect blending and great execution, you the man!

That\'s very similar to what I was planning on doing with this figure... damn, you beat me to it!

However, you\'ve done it far better than I could... a very impressive job.

@rev, i had a similar thought at first, but when it was explained about the lighting (combined with the fact that it is meant to look drow) i realised the face was fine, i suggested more contrast, but realisticly the face would look just like this.

Lovely work! The only downside for me is the face, as I explained in a comment. 9.5

I\'m sorry to disagree, check out your own face in the mirror. Or use the drop tool in photoshop on a picture. Notice how bright the glares are and compare to the shadows. It is even more evident in a dark skinned face as it is the same surface and leave the same amount of glares. It is of course very hard to reproduce that effect, but IMO the contrast aren\'t related to a realistic finish in that strict manner. Then there are other aspects of realism too, like more tones in the face, and that is perhaps the bigger problem here.

Notice though Albert that it is very nice, you just tend to compare I\'m afraid... and the rest is breathtaking IMO :)

thanks everybody, i agree the face needs some more light, but it is dark because the skin is meant to be dark, not oonly because of the shadow that has the face on this angle (looking almost to the ground) anyway its my first 54 mm miniature and my first real try ar zenithal so im quite proud of it.

As for the metals:

Undercoat in chaos black (citadel)
Base: 25% boltgun metal 25% liche purple 50% tin bitz
Highlights: add boltgun to the base colour and once you have boltgun on its own add chainmail and after do the same with mithril silver for the maximum highlights.
shadows: glazes of verry diluted paint with 25% black and 75% scab red and liche purple at the same proportions... in some places like the chainmail i also gave catachan green glazes. and if the glazes take out the shine too much, just highlight again with mithril, the point is try to leave the shadows matt and the highlights bright... hope that helped :)
