I like the purple/blue metallic armour a lot and the conversion looks excellent too, can\'t really give this any less than a 10

This is beautiful. The color choice, NMM and freehand are all perfect. Unfortunately, brightness of most of the highlights make it look like the the horse\'s flesh isn\'t highlighted up enough.

But I agree with darkart, that horse is awful to work with. Can\'t wait until we can bits order the new elven steeds.

Still, it\'s awesome!

The only thing i can possibly nit pick about are the aqua blue gems. There\'s something about them i can\'t put my finger on. Maybe the direction the light\'s hitting them? But at any rate i voted it a no brainer 10. Great work:)

Absolutly fantastic work both painting and conversion - I had the same idea and in my dark elf army I\'m using some converted dark eldars as a dark riders command group. Comment left for me it\'s 10 :)

this is good, definately some nice work on the conversion too!!! The colors you choose are great and you are so good at making them vibrant. Your nmm getting world class too, tough to beat what you\'re doing there!

What ichy noticed might be 2 things about the gems. First that the light seems to be coming from an extreme angle so the hot spot is right at the edge of the gem, (which is fine, just not typical). The second is that the gems on the 2 sides suggest light coming from different angles. The right side has hot spots to the back, and the left has them to the front.

Just to be overly picky :D

This is a small detail however in an outstanding piece.

Nice work Margo, I always love seeing your minis

Yeah, I HATE those damn horses as well. I was so happy when I saw the new wood elf horses.

Beautiful painting, almost makes me like the silly horse :0

Thanks everybody for comments!

Yes, I agree, the horse is mighty ugly. Hate it, too. But when I was making this conversion, the woodelven horses were not available, otherwise I\'d use one of these of course.

Good point about the lighting on gems, I\'ll remember that one next time I paint something with gems!

I\'d like to see more detail in the skin - looks a little flat to me.

Very vibrant armor, really catches the eye.
The freehand on the cloak is nice - those kind of details really add visual interest, too.

Yup...awful horse as far as the sculpt goes. Clean paint job on it, but not much more you could really do, I think. The cooler color tones are, as always, very nice.

Been and voted! Yay!

I\'ve been wanting to do a very similar conversion except with a Dark Pegasus, but I kept looking at Lelith Hespirax, and the sculpt is definitely subject to GW\'s scale creep. It\'s closer to 32mm than 28mm, I\'m sure. Unfortunately, your conversion displays how out of proportion Lelith is to her pony.

However, I still think that\'s a beautiful bit of conversion work you did, and it still gets a 9 out of me. The details you\'ve added, and the exquisite painting, make the entire mini far more than just Lelith on a Dark Steed.

You\'re right about the horse and the scale. Lelith is huge, as are some of the DE wyches. And the horse sculpt is far from what I\'d call \"pretty\" or IMP\'d call \"cute\". But the thing is, I wanted to try some chop-and-sculpt converting, so this model was one big experiment. Also, I was painting Lelith separately from the steed, and the scale issues became obvious only when I put them together.

Still, I learned a lot while painting this model. So I\'m very glad I didn\'t toss it away in the middle of the project -- and, believe me, I was tempted to do that so many times! :D
