Dark Elf Prince- Silver GD UK\'05

@rev: well it might look monotonous sometimes because i just went for a very harmonical colourscheme this time... i think i will keep in my new dark-realistic even gothic style... thanks everybody for all your nice words and support!!

subtle colors!

I love all the muted colors and the compressed value range.

It is very difficult to paint even a simple figure with that sort of pallets, and this wonderful mini is certainly complex!

Great job on the sculpting, too!

the way i painted the metals is the following: basecoat of 25% liche purple 25% boltgun metal 50% tin bitz (on black undercoat). I then blended until boltgun metal, and then up to chainmail, for finally giving the last highlights with mithril silver. Then give tones: veryyy diluted liche purple and graveyeard earth for the 2 main tones (sometimes liche+gore/scab red) and start giving glazes until the metal plates got the colour (never inks as they shine and i like the rust to be matt). Finally another highlights with mithril... thats all , hope its been useful:)

I have seen the light...

Albert, finally managed to see it.

I had to download the pic to my desktop and open it in preview.

However, I can say it was well worth the wait.

Congrats.
