Dark elf project :)

I am collecting DE for some time now and have much miniatures in my collection, but there is one big problem...
They don't have any character.... Im an old school painter, so im not using NMM teq etc, and use natural colours like it would be in real life, so my army is mostly dark (black, gold, gray skin and only contrast is snow on gray rocky bases)

Realistic? maybe but as a painting project i think it misses much and looks dull, but I have an idea that came up my mind...

I liked always chaos influence plus the best conversion possibilities that they offer, so I was thinking about cult of slaneesh, but its not my style, i always was a fan of dark red Khorne style that I think fits DE nice and my question is what you think about that ? The Kult of Khorne

I know I probably would't fit Malekiith and Morathi from my collection in this army what suxs, but for example my Champion would be Malus possessed by chaos Darkblade.
Troops and colour scheme would be dark red, and things like cauldron of blood and wytches would feel like home with all that red and blood
Much ideas I have in my mind like converted Bloodletters in armors (somethin like normal warriors would transform in deamons) etc...

I would be greatfull for some comments if it is a good idea or if not what to do to make my army more interesting

I love Khorne and darke elves the idea in principle sounds pretty good the malus idea works well and the DE lust for blood definately matches the Khorne principle (blood for the blood god and all that). The one thin i will say is do what makes you happy. DE are always darkly coloured, splashing a bit of a int of red into the mix will jus make those areas stand out. Keep them small though and try to build your characters as gradually turning to chaos and still quite secret. A full blown DE Khorne cult just doesnt sound right and would have been hunted down and destroyed by malekiths forces. You could sneak in some Khornate symbols on cloaks etc. The bloodletters might be going slightly over the top but a few deformities here and there within the ranks wouldnt be out of place.

Hope this doesnt add to the internal struggle to get the result you are looking for and the sometimes overwhelming urge to please others on this site.

Keep true to yourself and paint only for you, if your happy with the result then thats all you need.

I like the idea of the armoured bloodletters, and it could help make each model a bit more individual too.

hehe thx for the advice , I just cant paint like some ppl that the model looks like in one colour and still realistic, not my legue , I want to find something nice and mine but still its a hard decision
