What the heck? First your tell us you are painting \'fairy wings\' and now you are telling us you don\'t even have a hammer of your own to smack him with????

What kind of Barbarian King are you?

@ericj Fear not the sniper. The Hi-jackers are coming....lollol

Wow Great painting!
I would love to see some articles on how you do that! Heck for that matter I am just a day north of you, pop on up and teach me how you do that!

Congradulations on such beautiful work.

Ok, so here is a question. How much would something like this sell for? For me it\'s probably going to sit and get a little dusty over time, but if it was sold and then donated to Tsunami reliefs, then perhaps it could help in an important way.

I have never sold a paint job, and I really have no clue how to do it, if it would be worth the effort, etc...But I think it might be a wonderful fate for our dark maiden.

Help? Thoughts?

honestly i couldnt sell such a masterpiece ... call me egoistic but i just couldnt :(
there is the chance, even if incredible small that it will sell for far less than its worth.
a price of roughly $80 or $90, which is a very good price for even highest level 28mm miniatures would be a mere joke for the maiden.
i think 400 or more would be a good deal compared to other minis.
but honestly, i couldnt stand the change that somebody else than the original creator owns it :)
on the other hand i dont know squat about buying minis since i never bought, and probably will never buy a miniature

Joshua, you\'re probably right, I\'m not sure I could get myself to pack it up and ship her off. Although if it made any difference...I don\'t know, it\'s just rambling thoughts at this point... Mrs. Dark Maiden made me loose so much sleep this week, thinking straight is hard. ???

The simplicity of doing a reflection, although difficult to achieve I am sure has added another layer to your figure; coupled with the dynamics of the miniature itself, has created something unusual but no less extrodinary.

It\' a lovely piece, and so atmospheric.

Eric, if you were a famous painter, which you will probably be if you keep this level up, you could get huge amounts of money for that piece. You might get much money for it still, but you run a big risk of getting a lower price than it\'s worth by selling it on eBay or so.

EricJ, if I painted something like that, I doubt I could ever part with it. It would bring me far too much pleasure (dare I say pride). Don\'t sell it, mate, there\'s the strong chance that you\'ll regret doing that for a even a mere $200.

However, if you absolutely have to... I\'m here! And my flat pocket is bulging. lol

I only thought to sell after reading more about asia and had a \"omg what can I do to help\" flash. But I think perhaps maybe I will find a different way, getting going on an ogre will probably do the trick ;)

Yep, it\'s still not active, 60 votes and counting, I\'m actually kind of scared about it going active, I\'m like a nervious mother! :p (in a strictly manly sense!)

Well, whatever happens to it when it\'s become active, at least you know what some 60 guaranteed non-snipers think of it!

that is a tough call...

I have always been intriqued on how people can sell their work.

It would be one thing to paint something knowing you are going to part with it, but when it seems to be such an artistic piece that you put so much into, it would be a very tough call.

I would find it hard to part with even some of my mundane attempts (beside the fact that no one would pay me for it) because I have such a personal attachment to them.

BUT...on the flip side. If you can make money out of something you are passionate about, that is a true blessing!

This may be a new record all by itself. :)
Currently, 62 votes and 181 views and it\'s not even active yet. lol

The good part is, the algorithm will already be kicked in as soon as it\'s active. That should help negate the effect of any sn@*ing on it. (don\'t even want to invoke the term :))

The \'Ninja\' Maneater Ogre is out this month in the UK, that would be a good one to paint for the appeal. I think it\'s out on the 21st in the UK, if you want I will order one for you and post it to the US for free (Airmail- as my contribution, and I want one too :) ).

What do you think Eric?

lol

Thats funny, I was just thinking about that, if any mini had gotten to 50+ without being active yet. I kind of secretly hope it doesn\'t go active for the whole first week, to avoid the evil top in last 7 list *shudder*

Although I\'m really not worried, the outpouring of responses and support have been worth 100 times more that whatever it ends up scoring.

BIG Thanks everyone, I really give full credit to CMON and everyone here for helping me improve, check out my painting less than a year ago:

Improvement photo

So I really have to say, that regardless of what happens to the maiden, she is as much an accomplishment of this site as my own.

weeee, group hug :p

Thank you everyone,

-Eric

Donga, it\'s a tempting idea, but I had figured I\'d just do what Tammy sets me to, although hard to pass up getting my hands on that figure before anyone else here in the US :D

I\'m mostly eagerly awaiting the assignment list so I can do my part! Whatever mini I may get assigned.
