So, after a glorious gift by Angie I finally got and now started reading The final part of Stephen King\'s Dark Tower Chronicle. I wondered whether anyone else read any of this and what they think about it? Mind you, I just barely started pt 7, so no spoilers please :innocent:

Haven\'t been following the story for the last years, it\'s on nr. 7?

Loved the earliest installments (nr. 1-3), I\'ll have to hit a bookstore!

Having read a few stephen king I must say I\'m not a huge fan. Not a bad writter but I just don\'t like the stories.

Back in the day, I just liked how the first book didn\'t have the usual 100 odd pages of \"foreplay\" but started right in the middle of it... while the fourth book was actually one big flashback... nice style! Also I was pretty intrigued by the genre mix: horror, Sci-Fi, fantasy, Western... and lots of connections to other SK stories... Well, I just hope it won\'t be too disappointing an ending

Still to read Wolves - haven\'t got that far, but my wife is almost done reading reading 6. Gave her real nightmares.
I love all the flashback stuff in the stories. Could make for some cool minis or a game system I\'ve always thought. Hint hint you mini sculptors. Now that is some custom stuff I could cart out the wallet for.

I\'m still waiting for the Wheel of time to come to an end so I can get some peace of mind. I was hoping the tenth book would be the last, but despite being 1000 pages long it only covered a period of three days!!!! Still no end in sight, and now Jordan\'s decided to do a three book \"prelude\" instead. He\'s probably going to end up dying before the series comes to an end ???

I\'ve stopped reading the serie for that reason.. *sigh* it started out so good.. but now.. I don\'t know if he\'s ever going to get all those loose ends together.

I haven\'t read the books for quite a while. But I want them to make The Drawing Of The Three into a movie. I really do.

I envision the cast kind of like this:

Roland : Tom Selleck (Not even my favourite actor, but I think he could do it)

Eddie: Mark Wahlberg (starting off like he was in The Sixth Sense)

Susannah: The ageless and ever beautiful Telma Hopkins (If Lieutenant Dan could be a legless guy played by a guy with legs, then she could do it, too)
Alternate: The woman from Star Trek: First Contact - can\'t remember her name)

That\'s just the main bunch.

Ok, just finished the last book.
Well, the ending may not be everyone\'s cup of tea, but as King said, it\'s not supposed to be. I\' glad I went all the way with it, and don\'t regret reading any of it. It was a worthwhile journey.
Time to move on...
