No! That would be terrible. I really love the gray/white and brown/red combinations together here you started and highlighted up with. It looks great together. Bright and realistic.

Definitely hope I can practice your gray-white color transition with half the smoothness you\'ve achieved here. Please keep feeding this thread :)

Update time. This mini is finished except for his twin lightning claws which are yet to arrive. C&C Welcome, especially on the freehand script and omega symbols.

And this mini is a conversion of a veteran into a sergeant w/ melta. (Don\'t care if its not game legal...)

Granddad!
Everything looks nice and clean, freehand is good, bases are a bit plain maybe, but that\'s about it
I would say crop your pics closer to the mini, you\'ve got a lot of empty space on the sides of the mini. Keep the pic sizes the same tho, that will bring the mini in closer too for better inspection :D

got any more updates on the big guy? You can\'t just tease us with his face and leave us hanging :(:D

here\'s an example of what I mean about the cropping using your first pic, I also auto leveled it in gimp

Just to compare, your original

now obviously I can\'t do anything with the size as I\'m working with an already edited pic, you\'ll just have to imagine it bigger
I\'ve found keeping to around the 600 pixels wide with my own stuff seems to be about right

OK, I couldn\'t resist it..

....I had a play with your Vet Sgt too :D
Cropped and auto levelled
As I had more Kb to play with I re-sized it to 600 pixels wide as well;)

Keep them this size and you\'ll get some C&C :D;)

Cheers Mick, I\'ll bear that in mind. As for Geralt, well I think I\'ve got a case of painters block with him... :)

Two little Limited Edition Cadians for Ebay. Took three hours to paint them. I must say, IG are the most boring minis to paint, especially Cadians, but at least they are simple.

I love how your minis all have a very high standard. They all look very smooth and that white is just awesome

Hi DarkWind, I\'m not a big Space Marine fan but that last post of yours is worth a comment :)

Lightning Claws (which I find can often look too chunky), the flying backpack thingy & the helmet selection really work well together, a nicely composed photo as well, very flattering (position of figure, angle of shot).
Oh, and nice neat Army painting as well.

With regards to not many comments, never fear! There are plenty of folks like me who lurk often but post seldom. Try making a note each time you post of the number of \"views\" your thread has had, you might not have received any comments but if 60 people have looked the next time you check in then you must be doing something right!

Keep up the good work, B.

Wow these marines are really nice! I\'ve got some Space Crusade Captains I need to paint up in white armour and have been putting it off, but I think I\'ll give them a bash using your technique :)

Do you undercoat black, then paint the whole thing codex grey then work up to white? Do you use any other greys or just add increasing amount of white into the codex grey?

Yep. Black coat, then codex, then add increasing amounts of white. (By the end, the only codex grey showing should be in the deepest recesses and should be only a thin line.)

In fact, I probably spend to much time on the white and should start with a brighter grey (slightly) but anyways... :)
