Cheers Jah,

I was getting cramps from holding his \'base\' so I got a peanut butter lid :) , drilled holes in it and fastened him on with wire.

I\'ll be going at him agan tonight, so expect an update in the next few days.

Cheers exile.

The orange leather is as follows:

Bestial Brown Base
Badab Black Wash
Highlight with BB and increasing amounts of Dheneb stone, blending as you go/as you see fit.

A very simple method, no glazing or time consuming stuff. I very happy with the blends considering it only took a short while to do. Though at the end I may tone it down with a few glazes if its too vibrant compared to everything else.

So, believe it or not I actually have been painting. I'm working on a forgeworld venerable dreadnought for a certain online competition called 'The Golden Bolter'. IMO its my best work yet, and I've been trying painted battle damage and weathering powders to add a realistic look.

Your battle damages are good and there's a good blending too. My only crit is that you also may have done some other battle damages on the top of his legs cause it looks a bit empty if there are only of the bottoms of them.

Thanks for looking cheelfly. Now that I look at it your way, you are right about the marks. I'll put a few on the top to balance it out.

Congrats for those red and white.

If you paint all your SM at this standard the army will look incredible ¡¡

Could we know the NMM recipe and the metallics (gold and silver) ones???

I love them: clean and shiny look.

Hi Darkwind, great to see an update, I thought we'd lost you! It looks smashing, well done & keep it up :good:

re. score: I saw it in the Gallery today & thought "why hasn't he put that in his WIP thread?" :D but I didn't vote. My rule of thumb is to ignore WIPs because that's what the forum is for. Not in a shouty "it must be this way" way, just the same as I very rarely do anything other than skip past greens, busts & scales other than 25-32mm  I wonder if others vote down WIPs? or just think "7 for now but if he finishes it to this standard it'll be a 9, exquisitely based a 10". I don't know. Has it had 50 votes yet?

Cheers, B.

Ah, that explains a good deal. It doesn't have 50 yet, but I had put the same mini up with less pics earlier on and it had around 40 votes and it had 7.5. Thanks for looking mate.
