i was recently playing the online version of dow 1 one of the six player maps when to my amazement i was totally overrun!!!! within a minute or so of the game starting by landraiders, rhinos, drop pods the only thing that didnt land on me was the kitchen sink. as i was the one who initiated the game i know that game cheats werent enabled, has anyone out there had a simular experience and if so how was it done ?????????????

From what I can remember about playing DOW online is that it requires up to date patching , did you have a large starting amount of resources on ?

quick start was active but you still have to go through the time consuming building process and the upgrades i just couldnt work out how the upgrades were all active straight away. some kind of hack type cheat was on the go i had hardly built my barracks before i was swamped???

game cheats weren\'t enabled? isn\'t that the whole point of cheating - doing something you aren\'t supposed to do?

It\'s hard to say, but remember that there are people out there who are just too good at this game. Personally I have never won a single DoW game because everytime I was done with my first chaos marine squad my enemy would have already attacked me with a commander and several other troops.

I don\'t think many people cheat, but I have no idea how they build so quickly either.

it wouldnt matter if it was bob the builder playing no one builds that fast, like literaly within a minute they had all the abilitys and the top of the range wargear, im thinking sneaky back door cheats possibly one of the game disigners was involved but thats just my paranoia, remember \"if you think they are out to get you,. they probably are\"
by the way it was a black templar army too so watch out for them they may get you too:mad::eek::mad:

There\'s your answer really.

Cheating in online gaming is rife, far more common than is acknowledged usually. When calling \"Hacks!\" you do have to be very very sure what is doable and what is totally impossible due to game physics, time limits and so on. But this sounds pretty cut and dried.

Always good to remember with any game, no matter how good it\'s supposed to be with regard to being cheat-proof: the possibility of designing a hack or cheat of some kind is virtually a certainty, not unlikely.

Can\'t you \"review\" a game that was played? You\'d be able to see if any cheating was going on ... unless of course fog of war is also on during the replay. It\'s been a while I haven\'t played DOW :p.

Maybe he was just really good?

Sounds unlikely, if what is described above is accurate. I mean, no one lies or cheats on the internet, right?

True, no one ever lies.

Incidently, I have access to a few million dollars from an unnamed Nigerian Prince. If you could send me some money and your bank account information, I\'ll make sure you get a nice finders fee.

I guess i forgot the excessive rolly eyes emoticon to emphasize the tongue in cheek nature of my comment, so here they are:

Ha!

I read it as dripping with sarcasm!!

Maybe I just have the roll eyes smiley as a filter!!!

Of course, what we really need is a \'I\'m totally serious\' smiley....

He was probably cheating. There are some sort of game hacks which enable such things.
Like in Command & Conquer, Generals. It was a 2v2 and when I build my barracks I got 20 Squd Missiles on my head. That was an aweful game glitch where you could shortkey glitch the game and send super attacks to the enemy... gg\'ed.

was playing the other day when i joined a gamewith an observer i asked the question who\'s the observer? i hope its not one of you peeking on a lap top, suddnly all the chat went dead and then everyone left the game. this is a sad indication that trust and fair play are things of the past
