Watched the recap over the weekend - not sure if the GF is recording it in the new season or not.

Much prefer Dirty Jobs.

It\'s probably a good show, but they play it so often I can\'t bear to watch it.

I think the Discovery Channel gets a one track mind at times and refuses to try anything new.

I LOVE me some Deadliest Catch...

1) Mike Rowe has the sexiest voice evar. I blame the opera training
2) The Cornelia Marie...enough said
3) i feel so much better not liking crab
4) I laugh when the family has it

did anyone see the PVP about deadliest catch?

HERE

needless to say, we\'re TiVo\'ing it.

I prefer Dirty Jobs as well. Mike Rowe cracks me up, and they find some REALLY interesting topics on that show. I nearly fell out of my chair when they went to the farm with the \"fainting\" goats, and when they went to the daycare to collect \"specimens\" for the odor analyzer.

Gotta admit I love it.Lobster men is good and the one with the Tuna fisherman too.. agree with Vike on the one track mind thing though although it\'s better than a soap marathon or even more shark programmes... I love sharks wildlife and all related programmes but every shark programme same old stuff...

btw Sam whats that pic in your avatar.. me likey.......

Coming soon to Discovery Channel!

MythBusters tests the myth that it really is the deadliest catch by visiting the show, on the same time it is tested if it is a Dirty Job.

Stay tuned this summer for the 3 hour episode of Deadliest Job Busters! (Dirtiest Myth Catch?)

since winter has not quite let us out of it\'s icy grip here in fairbanks(we\'ve had a foot of snow in the last 2 weeks, and it\'s still 20f outside), i\'m not about to watch a show about dudes in the cold...i quite enjoyed it when i was in california last year...

the irony of this show is that tourists are now comin\' to dutch harbor to gawk at the fishermen, and a lot of the locals who are not on the show are pissed off...

fisherman have never been very acceptin\' of outsiders...i had the most verbal abuse ever when i was lookin\' for a spot on a halibut boat back in the early 90\'s...you\'d have thought i was askin\' for a night with their sisters, instead of lookin\' for work...i finally got a spot because one of my friends was ill...
it was odd to be the only vegetarian on the boat, but i wanted the experience bad enough to put up with all the crap...

one of my buddies who\'s been a crabber for 20 years goes by the name carcass!!!
what a bunch of characters...

we have a fishin\' town called homer up here...one of the most beautiful places in the world...anyway, the locals say homer is a nice little drinkin\' town with a fishin\' problemlol...i love that joke...

cheers

You have to admit that Scott Kurtz is one funny man.

I just wonder if something like that has ever really happened.....

Love Mike Rowe (in a heterosexual way), not all that fond of Deadliest Catch however. :drunk:

You\'re complaining about 20 degrees above zero? Wuss! I remember they wouldn\'t even think about closing school unless it was at least 20 below.

Anyway, look on the bright side. At least you\'ve got a few more weeks before break-up, and then the annual migration of misquitoes.

yeah, it hasn\'t been -40 since february, so it\'s all good, but when it gets up to 45 one day, and then goes to back 15 for a week, then dumps six inches like it did a couple nighs ago, it messes with the mind...

i\'m ready for spring, and then mosquito season...

cheers

Oh ... what? And four to five months of pitch darkness followed shortly after by four to five months of 24 hour sunlight doesn\'t mess with the mind? :)

Stay sane .... not too sane, though.

Gawd! I gotta get back up there. How the @!#$ did I ever end up in Phoenix?

sorry to highjack your thread t-hawker, but it\'s time for another alaskan weather report...

it\'s 15f outside right now, and snowin\' again...on sunday it was 30 degrees warmer, and everyone was out in shorts!!! the temp. has been up and down an average of 25 degrees 3 times in the last 3 weeks...

after an average of 3 1/2 hours of light around christmas, we now have sunrise at 6am, and sunset at 10pm...in about 5 weeks, the sun will not even bother to go down for a couple months...

my body clock is goin\' crazy!!!

enjoy watchin\' those crazy buggers catchin\' crab in the bering sea...fightin\' ice, and rogue waves...
i have to go walk uphill both ways in the snow to the store for coffee now...

cheers
