This is my first submission to CMON, and my first Space Marine actually.

Just looking for comments, tips, etc. (yes, I know that the gray highlight on black offends some sensibilities, but I was trying out the GW style -- any recommendations on how to do black better are, of course, appreciated)

Welcome to the site.

It's decent looking. The grey highlights are fine, but I think you need a midtone around them before having such a stark change. I'm also not sure that you place the highlights in the right spot. If you look at your picture, you'll see the glare of the overhead light. That's where your highlighting should go. On the toes, it looks as though the highlight is where the shade should be and vice versa.
