Deathwatch Marine Squad

Hello all,

I have finally finished my first and very possibly last commission project ;-) A squad of Deathwatch marines for a friend. I had to learn a lot about painting black as a glossy effect and also freehand which I have not attempted before on the shoulders and banner. All in a steep learning curve but extremely rewarding and the 'client' is very pleased.

Lovely looking stuff there Will,

if you have any tips about what colours you used to get the black, always my achilles heel as i end up making it look chalky.

Looking at doing a sort of elite squad from some spare FW SM figures i have, and black is a scheme i have pondered but would need to be good for GD entry.

Either that or its bright n colourful with the eagle warriors again hehe.

Your freehand is really crisp and neat too, fills out the banner nicely.
