So I was putting on the finishing touches to my IG HQ Squad last night, which included water transfers. I prefer to use the decal solvent solution when applying to their curved pauldrons because it helps them conform to the curve better.
I wasn't really paying attention because this was the last thing to do before I was going to go watch Firefly, so I slapped it on with a bit too much of a brush load. Everything was fine when I went to bed and when I woke up this morning, but this afternoon when I came to do the final touches I notices that on a few of the guards a few of their transfers were completely missing! I wondered what could have happened .
I must have forgotten to put those on, I thought ... but then I noticed a thin, powdery film over the area where the transfers were. After much thought I realized what the problem was.
Solvent solution can be used to compeltely remove old transfers, and it takes about 18 to 24 hours for the stuff to really remove old stuff.
Let my tale of woe caution you all to heed the warnings of the solvent solution in the future.
