Demise of 1st Company

I remember reading/hearing somewhere that 1st Compant Ultra Marines were killed off by GW with the Tyranids could someone point me in the direction of some fluff/the storey of this please.

They were killed off BY the tyranids. Not with them. they are both safe and sound now. The first company were killed many hundred s of years (and editions) ago.The 1st compnay are now reformed.That is unless there has been a change.

I meant by the tyranids :D

I am specifiaclly after any info on the battle or an account of said battle as I have a few ideas I want to do using the battle as background for a last stand sort of affair.

No worries.I was more afraid that GW did a bone head thing like that.

The 1st company were killed at the battle of Macragge. which is the home of the Ultramarines chapter, by a tyranid invasion. Ok class turn to page 166 of your 4th edition rule book under the heading The Battle For Macragge.

Theres also some fluff in the new space marines codex also. Almost made me want to paint an ultramarines army after reading it (still like the space wolves and Black templars better.)
