Different painters, same miniatures!?

I have seen it a couple of times lately that i see the exact same figure posted twice by different names. What\'s up with that? I mean if you paint a miniature together shouldn\'t you just post it under one id instead of two.???

Example:

Done by Dark Zealot:

Done by Justindz:

Excuse me, but I just don\'t get why several people should post pics of the same model!

EDIT: changed it. Should be good now.

I had the same confusion when I first joined. Basicly, the painter posted hi work, then the studio he did the work for posted it.
It\'s really good work I might add.

understandable...

But if the picture poster would take oh what...four seconds, they could type in a description that would make it all readily apparent.

How tough would that be?

???

@Supervike:I agree, how hard can it be and sure would make it a lot easier for all of us.

@Ebonbuddha:I also agree that it\'s well painted.

I think it\'s a lot of \"just don\'t give a f*ck syndrome\". Kind of like the another mini sheep. I\'m always amazed at the lazinest that some people have that post on this site.

Oh, I thought this thread was about \"fashion\" minis. You know, the ones EVERYONE has painted at one time or the other.

Kinda reminded me how, in the 2003 Annual, we got to see like, five or six renditions of the same sculpt by different artists. They all were nicely painted, but seeing so many Rackham Fiannas kinda diulted the excitement.

On the site, the effect is less apparent, IMO, since the images are shown randomly everytime one visits, and you never have to see again the ones you had already voted on.

What amazes me is that they can be a half to a full point difference in the same picture. Even after a hundred votes when it is supposed to have averaged out.

Unless I \'m looking at different pictures, they only have 10 or so votes each, its the viewings that are about 100!

Sorry, should have clarified. Not these minis, but I have seen like Toadstool winners posted and the artists posting with over 100 votes each. One mini over half a point higher than the other - same pic.

But with the Toadstools i understand why they post the pics again, to let people know who won. Tthat there is a different rating is because other people vote than on the original. Also when people know something won a prize they tend to look better and judge harsher/better!

Also, this is not rocket science...

Can you honestly say that you would give the same rating every day to every mini? I think not.

If you collected for charity, at exactly the same position several days in a row, would you expect to get the same money?
