Digital Camera question

Hi all,

I too am in the market for a camera.

I used an Olympus 4000c borrowed from my sister to take the pics I have posted. I am sure the camera was capable of better quality pics, but I just couldn\'t figure it out in the day I borrowed it. Like Steelcult said the Olympus could be more user friendly. About the time I started to figure it out the darn batteries died, and my sister needed it back (she posts stuff on e-bay)!

Would a few of you mind mentioning your camera and directing me towards a mini that you submitted using said camera?

For instance: \" I used a Nikon CoolPix5000 on this submission 12xxx\"

I think that would help me tremendously if I could see the results achieved.

Thanks in advance!

Here are links to pics taken with a Nikon Coolpix 885.

Thing to remember.. I\'m not much of a photographer so I\'m sure I could get better results if I read the instructions more carefully.... unfortunately, I fell into a coma after page 4. :)

The camera is great though. I picked it because of the reviews from http://www.dcresource.com/ . It rated the macro quite highly, so I was sold... and I have to say, I\'ve had no regrets thus far. I\'m sure there are better cameras about with more whistles and bells, but I\'ll stick with this for the time being I reckon :)

Well, if you were working in a camera shop you\'d just have earned a commission!

I think I am sold! Nikon seems to be the running favorite now.

If I buy that camera will it allow me to paint as well as you????????

Thanks to all....

Nikon

Supervike, as you are already sold, this is probably a redundant post but as someone who would class himself as \'semipro\' and who has over 500 cameras in his collection (They don\'t all work!) I can state that, in my opinion, Nikon are the people to beat. I am not an expert in digital cameras, although I do have a small Nikon Coolpix, their 35mm stuff is the basic tool of most working pros.
As far as I know they only make cameras. All the rest make cameras as a sideline to their, printers/photocopiers/sewing machines/motorbikes etc.
It would take a VERY good salesman to sell me anything different:D

and even better....

With just a cursory glance at E-bay, since the Coolpix 885 is not the latest model, they are relatively less expensive, which is always a good thing.

Oh and Finn17, allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your 600th post. (your not there yet, but soon...very soon)

It\'s a sad waste of a young lifelol:flip:

Nikon it is!

Well, Nikon seems to have a really good following backed up by people who know their schmack about cameras. Good thing, because I just bought one!! Nikon 4300 commin my way! :bouncy: Heck, I\'ll put some of my mini\'s on the site now. Thanks much for all the input peeps. Nikon really should comp the good people that use their stuff and are able to guide the uninformed into the fold. I\'ll let you all know how a first time user is able to handle the new cam and whether there is anything else to whoop and holler about.

Great stuff!

Good luck Beestieboy! I really don\'t think you will have anything to complain about. IMO Nikon have always had a superb back-up service that puts others to shame. Even if you don\'t get on with it, you should have no difficulty selling it.
I look forward to seeing the results :D

Canon S400

I\'ve been doing a lot of reserach, and really like this camera. It gets great reviews, and it\'s totally small, making it very convenient on the go. Anyone tried using it for shooting minis?

you should have no difficulty selling it.

Dang true. The ones on Ebay were getting 40+ bids and 400+looks! Crazy. I\'ll let you guys know once I get it and post up a mini.
