Dims' Converted Vermin Lord

Nice conversion. I didn't like much the Daemon Prince and I think your conversion of it into a Skaven makes it much better. I'm waiting to see how the painting is gonna be.

Fantastic idea, and you're making a real nice job of it.

Would like to see close ups of the symbols you've sculpted on the leg armour, look sweet from the current views.

Only thing that would be nice would be some dings/cuts in the armour just to rough him up a bit.

Look fwd to seeing more!

I have just started to paint the model. I am aiming for a Storm vermin look, so black fur and very dark toned skin. Here I only have done the skin and started on the base. By the way: I have updated my site Dimsgalleries.com and now contains a LOT of WIP of the converting of the model. Have a look!

the new deamon prince have some strange proportions going on with his body, he have a waist like a wasp for example.
still you have improved him a lot, cool conversion (and nice skincolour too!)

Also making making my own Vermin lord but I'm trying to make one from scratch, trying to get the same pose as in the army book... for the moment it just looks like a body builder with a tail :p

Congrats on making the GW newsletter-thingy! :)
And great job on the Vermin Lord - an awesome conversion based on an originally hideous figure :)

I like the flesh colours you've chosen Dims, looks good without the ubiquitous pink tones that Skven tend to attract.

Cheers, B.

awesume, conversion. the beefier look suits the character better then the original. how did you get that skin tone?

Hmmm, I think it's dark gray + blue blended to some khaki colour: it could be bleached bone + skin tone, but not sure... just guessing.

Everyone thank for all your kind words!

@nichorn and @Cidiuss: I'm not often in the habit of expleining paint schemes too much, but the skin tone was really hard to find. Took me some tries to get it right.
The skin tone is done like this:
-Undercoat black
- Fortress Grey + Black (1:2)
- add Fortress Gray (1 part) + Tallarn Flesh (1 part)
- add Tallarn Flesh (1)
- add Bleached Bone for the highlight.

Ofcourse: technique is the other half of the equation! I invite you to try it out!

Both the conversion and paint job are superb, I like how the fur looks like it's been done in Oils ;)
