Diorama ?

Hi Y\'all, I\'m working on something, which I consider an elaborate display base, but I\'ve been told \'That\'ll be a nice diorama\'... I always tough a diorama needed to have something going on and at least two subject. But I\'ve seen things called diorama, which have only one mini, on what I would call a \'display base\'. So maybe I just din\'t know.
So I\'m asking, how do you define diorama, or more specifically, where do you put the line between diorama and display base ?

Personally a diorama for me would have to be pretty big, and subject-wise larger than a vignette. So at least a half-dozen figures, with any vehicles and mounts (horses or whatever).

A large scenic base, but only for two or three figures, doesn\'t equal a diorama.

A diorama is anything with a landscaped base and integral pieces that presents a specific moment in and of itself. Technically it probably should also include a painted background, but the number of figures is irrelevant. Some historical dioramas present a scene with only a single figure.

If the individual figures are removable, it\'s a display base.

If you\'re able to use the complete piece in one of your armies, it\'s more than likely not a diorama. :D

Most important I feel a diorama should have the figures fixed to it..no gaming bases. useually it needs to tell some sort of a story/interaction and not just a random collectionof figures.

Removeable figures-display base.
