Hi there.

Two more miniatures for your delectation:

The Dirz bust I painted over last Christmas. I\'ve taken a couple of new pictures and I\'ve changed him quite a bit since then, so I thought I\'d post him again. Quail at 25cm of pure resin evil!

Shae, the Elven archer from Spyglass. God, I love this miniature. I wanted her to be in a serene autumnal environment so for the base I bought some brass etched leaves and painted them in soothing russet hues.

Praise, heckles, suggestions etc. much appreciated.

Dritz is suitably icchy. I cannot imagine wanting one of those on a shelf in the house. (that is a complement)

Shae is sweet. Is that the 28mm or the larger (54 mm?) version? I know that they make 2 that are almost identical other than size.

Shae is the smaller 28mm version. The 54mm one looks lovely, though. I might well pick it up at some point. Mmm, curvy..

Bust: Something\'s missing, something to make it more lifelike. The black armour looks flat, the other metal parts would have looked cool if you\'d painted them rusty (or maybe some dried blood on the blades?). The exposed flesh is just a little too pink to look realistic and the skin around the wounds should look angrier. Some variation on the skin in general would have been good I think. Something else? Erm, yeah, the eyes. You probably want them to look dead but somehow it\'s not working for me. Mmh, don\'t know.

Shea: Especially like the leaves on the base.
What\'s a bit distracting is the harsh blacklining on the pants. Freehand looks nice, just a little chalky. Don\'t particularly like the red basecoat you used for her hair but that\'s just a taste thing. Solid paintjob.

I think you\'ve got the fleshtones and raw skin of the dirz bust spot on.... however, the black parts of the armour seem a little bland and could do with some shading or defination... perhaps some highlights...... cos rite now it jus looks unpainted..... the blades are okay but some of the long ones on the fingers could do with highlights.... they do look like they could be nice and sharp.....

For shae....
the blacklinin on the pants seems a little dark when done on that ivory-brown colour. The skintone on the face is a nice pink-red hue but a little uneven it seems on her arms... esp her rite hand. The detailing is excellent btw

and I think the red/orange (?) ink or background on her hair seems a little harsh for that hair colour.. possibly it might be nicer if it were a lighter brown ...

i remember...

when you posted that Bust....The touch ups (or maybe the camera work) have improved it quite a bit (and it was good before)...

Shae is a perfect example of how sometimes less is so much more (both in terms of the sculpt and the painting)....

Great work on both!
