Disappointing Service

We\'ve had a couple of \'Great service\' threads. Alas, I am now forced to post on the other side of the spectrum. I am extremely disappointed. Nay, angry.

Eastern Front Studios is the culprit of my ire. I placed an order in early april with them. I registered, and still have my confirmation of my account in my email\'s inbox.
I placed an order, and paid for it, over $70, via pay-pal.
It didn\'t come.
I went to sign in and check on the status of my order, and lo... my account registered to my email address is not an account anymore.

So, I wrote them, and got a prompt first response, asking for more details. I sent said details, including the date of the transaction, which I got from my Pay-Pal information pages.

Their second response was an email with a subject \'Pay Pal Incident\', and no text. I re-wrote them, sending all of the particulars again, and now, three days later, am still awaiting a reply to that.

April 4th to June 28 is more than ample time to ship anywhere on Earth.
I\'m disappointed that I haven\'t gotten my minis. I\'m disappointed with the customer service. And I\'m angry that I appear to have lost over $70.

GAH!

Similar thing happened to me with a music store in Jersey (the Channel Island... ;) ). Placed an order, paid... then their site went down for a few days and my account was deleted when they came back online. At least I hadn\'t spent too much with them. And they didn\'t reply to e-mails or phone calls!

Have you tried taking this up with Pay Pal? They are real good with resoving ebay conflicts, maybe they could do something for this situation.

For future reference, anyone in a similar situation, if you pay with a credit card, you can dispute the payment. I mean, if you paid PayPal with your credit card, and sent the payment to the seller. That\'s what I have to do anyway, because I never leave payments in my account. I assume PayPal must have something similar for evil doers.

I have 2 friends who sold something for a hefty sum on eBay, recieved paypal payment, shipped the items off, then had the funds removed from their bank account a couple weeks later. Paid with a stolen card, owner disputed payment when they got the bill. One friend got hosed, lost it all. The other came out $100 or so ahead of the game, because they took about that much less out of his account and he was able to get back his item. It was an online game account so he just contacted the game and said his account was hacked and got access. \")

Um...anyway, good reason to only accept bids from buyers with good rating.lol

Luckily this transaction seems to be working out well. Freebies!

I\'ve still not received my EFS order from May 2004. It was only $22, but I really wanted the minis. Any chance of tracking it down Mick?

Thanks

Anyone get hit by whoever/whatever got their hands on the credit card info for 40 million people I have been hearing about in the news? Just curious.

@Mick - glad to see that you`re visiting this forum. Any news on the payment for Marek (for the minotaur he sculpted)? It`s been almost a year now...

EFS are starting to rack up a couple of complaints on TMP and their eBay feedback is less than perfect. They do seem to resolve them, but you have to ask why lessons aren\'t being learnt to prevent the dramas reoccurring.

Mick - I appreciate this is not really the venue for such a post - but any chance of having the money you owe Gamers Quest now refunded - we have waited since last September and my patience is fast running out

Apologies guys for the public nature of the post - I hate washing dirty laundry in public but unfortunately I now have little option as EFS owes us a considerable sum of money

Will let you know when/if it gets resolved

Just some info for everyone...

If something like this ever happens to anyone again, something you can try.

Your PayPal accounts, if they are registered via a credit card, you could file for a chargeback thru your issuing bank.

Credit card regulations indicate that the merchant has to send the goods and ensure they arrive. If they don\'t for whatever reason; after sometime, your bank can charge it back to the store\'s bank. If the store\'s bank can\'t prove delivery, they get charged, and the bank recovers your money.

A lizardmen army box I won on ebay never showed up for 2 months but the guy insists he shipped it. After 3, i never got there. I skipped the paypal and eBay help as it was too late, but my bank charged it back for me :)

Just a note...credit cards can help sometimes :)
