Disaster. (Be careful where you store figures)

I bought the whole zombie range from Studio some years ago. They came in old VHS video cases which I kept to store unpainted miniatures.
So far so good.
Recently I suffered an injury to my right arm requiring surgical intervention to free trapped nerves and whilst away my partner decided to tidy my painting room for me.
She threw away my collection of old packaging I was keeping for no good reason and even bought me some new Rosemary brushes so when I could paint again I would have some nice new stuff.

The video cases went.

I had a heap of Dr Who (Blacktree), Artizan civilians, Hasslefree troops and survivors and Crooked Dice minions in there. All of my unpainted stuff. All of it.
Still, I got £12 of new brushes.........£200+ of lost miniatures. No hope of replacing most of them as the injury has resulted in a lowering of income to around zero.

Shes still alive.

Be careful where you store your kit.

Yeah, that really stinks. My mum did that - I had a bunch of figs, including the Reaper Griffin Chariot, neatly filed away in a cabinet. One spring cleaning later, while I was at work (at that time, I was an intern), they had all disappeared, alongside my paints and brushes.

I didn't go near the hobby for another 5 years or so after that.

typo: My mum. I didn't go near my mum.

Gutted does not even begin to cover how I feel. It was a genuine mistake however. If I start collecting again I should have most of it back in a couple of years.......

Yeah, that did sound sad.

Man that sucks. I don't have anyone to misplace or lose my minis though I sometimes tend to do that myself. Not throwing stuff away, but I occasionally lose some minis and later happen to find them from places I thought I didn't store them.

I have ordered the first 8 doctors again just in case blacktree run out of any of them.
It does suck but she feels like crap and meant well.
The old VHS case as storage seemed like a good idea at the time........
Still.....I have some nice new brushes.....

You want to have a nice spring clean in her shoe cabinet, and just leave a pair of sandals in there..................then she'll true ly know the feeling.

Or better still never ever let this one lie.........any arguments bring this one out. ;)

Well I'm sorry to read about that misfortune.
I'm fortunate in that my wife wouldn't think about messing about in the man cave.

The only figures that have ever been thrown out, was one my mother threw out in a fit of pique many years ago.
We'd gotten into an arguement over the creepy, slimy leech of a Curate she'd become friends with, and out if Temper/Spite (yes she could be like that) threw out a 75mm Hinchcliffe Napoleonic Dragoon diorama (Dragoon sat at table looking dejected at a letter) I think it cost me something like £30 back in 1974, more than two weeks wages when I bought it. Pissed me off big time when I found out.

To add insult to injury the Motorhead concert on the 13th Feb in Glasgow is now canceled.
