Display base, what colour??

Just popped over to the WiP to have a look - very nice result there mate . I would recommend something dark like mahogony. The mini itself is quite dark and gritty (in a very good way) and this would help keep that feel. Anything too light would detract from the overall look rather than compliment it.
okay, I have made it about five cm in diameter. I am entering YoungBloods in the fang in april 
will you enter aswell avelorn? you know there is quite some competion there, there is a demonwinner that comes there and from what I have heard he wins the \'over-all\' price every year maby you could rob him that joy lol
really dark brown you say? like tree colored but with some tree oil on it? or would you suggest that I paint it?
I also plan to glue some red cloth under the base so it wont scratch or mark the glass in the cabinet ;P
plus... the pics are very dark, it has brighter colors irl

it\'s a bit of a shame because I don\'t know what kind of tree I use ???
it\'s located in stockholm, but there is part competitions aswell, and the winners in the part competitions will make it to the finals in stockholm GW.
