Okay gang, I have all these painted minis that only myself and cmon get to look at, oh and my goldfish.

I would like to store them in a glass cabinet with a light so that my family, friends and visitors can appreciate them and alsoprotect them from dust.

How do you display your minis at home or in the studio and where can I get hold of one in the UK.

Many thanks boyzie

I have a glass cabinet that I bought at Ikea, that works well for the purpose of showing of minis. I think it\'s meant to be used for showing off porcelain and stuff, but I prefer to hide that crap ;)

I have a spare one, it depends on where you live as to whether or not it could be gotten to you but if you are anywhere near me then let me know and we can come to a deal.
It is 5\' tall and has 4 glass shelves, a mirror at the back that runs top to bottom and also has a light in for evenings if you so wish.
It has dark wood top bottom and rebates for the glass doors and side pannels.

I bought it from Argos about 4 or 5 years ago I recently bought a whole new range of furniture for our living room and it didn\'t go with the new stuff so now it is sitting empty and just taking up room.

i\'ve currently got some in a 10 gallon fish tank (not the answer you wanted to hear, i know) and pretend they\'re alive whenever somebody\'s in my room. They\'re \"my pets\"

The cabinets are called \"Jarna\" and the lamps are \"Magiker\".

If you go to any Model Car, or Nascar shops they make plexi-glass mirrored backed bases for the purpose of showing off matchbox/hotwheel sized cars. If you turn it on it\'s side you have 2 inche by 3 inch nitche for your stuff.

here\'s a couple more links from the uk. I was thinking of getting one of these, but haven\'t go enough minis to fill it, and it\'s a little pricey!

I actually made a small one years ago, out of some pieces of mdf and some acrylic which I \'requistioned\' from school. I\'ve also got a brass and glass case, which I\'ve seen in John Lewis, not sure if they still have it though. And speaking of IKEA, I bought one of their little display craft boxes, it\'s like a plywood box with a glass front. It\'s the about the size of a brick, so it can only hold 2 or 3 at most.

So what about the US

Just about any furniture store will have floor and wall mounted display cabinets or cases. Leons, Ikea or even Sears, etc. The hard part would be to find the air tight ones. I finally managed to locate a couple from some office/retailer supply type shops but they were out of my price range. They came with lighting though, which was a nice plus. Sadly this was years ago and I no longer have the addy\'s saved in my favourites.

IKEA... swedish for \'Some Assembly Required\'...
I wish I could remember who said it first, so I could properly credit the quote...

My current display case is also from Ikea, but it\'s not so much a display case as a VCR tape shelf that I\'ve given new purpose in life, because my DVD\'s don\'t fit into it, and I\'m selling all my VHS collection off at an upcoming garage sale.

That\'s a suitable lamp you\'ve got there... \"Magiker\" is Swedish for \"Wizard\". :D
