Wow, you did a splendid job of making the drone's flesh part really gross looking. I never realized the drones were worms stuck to a piece or armor.
so: Ewwwwww... good job!

Sorry about the slow updates, real life has been a little hectic these last couple of months. I am changing the blog focus slightly to include all my works, I have pictures to share this weekend and lots of wip's! :)

Thanks to everyone for so far for the kind words and comments :)

First of my completed Warmachine projects for 2010, this is a repaint of my original Kodiak which appeared in Harbinger Magazine such years ago. I am determined to make this army my first fully nmm project and I feel that the Kodiak is a good start. I have learnt a great deal from some glaring mistakes (that I hope I have started to correct on my next figure) and it is refreshing coming into a project some what unprepared and unknowing what palette I should use.

I like these as they are all very clean, but for some reason your warmachine seems to come across as very bland in the painting almost 2 toned as compared to your other work you have shown. Again I like it but it doesn't seem to live up to your other work.

Cool, good to see some Warmachine goodness around here. I like the Kodiak, but feel like the nmm could use another layer or two of highlights, on up to almost white for the metallic shine. Love the Greylords leader. The cloak and face are both really nice.

Thank you for the feedback guys, I am constantly trying to learn and adapt so your points are very much appreciated :)

I will admit my Nmm is shaky to say the least, I am still trying to get to grips with the colour palettes and (sometimes) it can frustrating trying to emulate the works of friends and fellow gamers (all part of the process though right ;)). I am resolved to keep this project Nmm and with everyone's advice I am hoping to improvements will occur over the months.

I agree " GET ON WITH IT!!"

With NMM you have teh great foundation of the deep rich color to it. The problem lies in that you don't have the stark contrast as well to it. If you look most people with NMM have one small area or line that is to the brightest point(i.e white) which is representing of the light bouncing off the metal. The best painters use the physical world through a little bit of research and then translate it onto models thus shadding and high lighting.

Many thanks for all the advice and help,

it has been hard trying to figure things out, but I am enjoying the challenge :) I do actually have a Death Guard figure finished and in need of a photoshoot. I am hoping to get it down and posted this weekend.

This week I finished another Warmachine figure in the form of Manhunter Alt version.

Been working on this since Friday last week, can't seem to find the motivation to finish due to the warm weather. I am hoping to have this done tomorrow and move onto another figure.

I love the face on that model. I feel your pain on staying inside when it is nice outside. My only solice is that it's been extrememly hot making me want to stay inside and paint instead:).
