Do You Have a Sword?

I was wondering if anyone of you all around the world has a sword/axe/lance/etc...

I have 2:

they\'re modern reproduction of an Italian sword from XV cent. and a Swedish 2-H sword from XVI cent.

my papa has like 5 or 6 i think, we got him 2 hardcore ones for fathers day, one for no reason, he had one when we met him, and one more we got off of ebay so 5 swords!lol

I\'d like to start a collection, but my girlfriend thinks it\'s too dangerous to keep in the house :(

Biggest mistake I ever made was teaching my wife to shoot the 9mm. She only knows one way to unload the thing - 15 times, then change clips.

lol, well my old swords were lost in my apartment fire. I had a katana and wakizashi. However, I cannot afford to get a good sword yet. too many minis to buy. But I did buy a scimitar to fool around with.

this is the image from the auction. Cool enough a freind of mine had a second so I have 2 of these now. Which is good because I always used two swords. It takes some getting used to though, these 2 are 44+ inches long.

here in italy those weapons are sold with no edge, so it\'s not so dangerous (even if i\'m sure i can easily kill a man even without the edge)

Well, I havve those two. Bottom one is a tourist-thing made in Taiwan, the top one is a iaito (training blade, if you will). I\'m unfortunately not rich enough yet to buy a real one of those, even though an armory just round the corner currently has a certified - and beautiful - japanese antique on sale :( :(.

Oh yeah, and I also have a couple throwing knives. Did that in my garden a few years ago.

this one is my fathers short sword, its called Sting, supposedly its from lord of the rings type thing, its a hobbit sword or something

this one is part of a set we got him for fathers day, its pretty cool and really wide. and sharp

this is the other part of the set, its HUGE really, really big. its almost as tall as my brother like four foot or something!

so thats it, those are the swords, :D

Hi Paolo (and Cristina. I saw she\'s still doing great foodstuff.),

is the competition at Italian conventions so bad you need a sword? :)

I only have a Dao here with which I trained while I was doing Wushu. A few weeks ago I participated in a short workshop with European longsword (like the second sword Luca showed). Very interesting. I\'d love to learn more but unfortunately the school is too far away. Sigh.

Out of interest, how many of you had sword training? And if so, what style and type of school?

Pointy sticks....

I have a sword...or at least one I hope to inherit. My father found it in an attic at the boarding school he went to. (Finders keepers right ;) ) He and his mates went out and started swinging it about in the middle of the road...which was fine till the handle came off. The blade went straight into the side of a Mini parked close by :eek:

He retrieved it and we have it still. It\'s extremely old and bloody heavy. The hilt is made of silver and used to come apart in sections till it was repaired. Taking it apart would reveal a wooden inner sheath. The blade is flat and quite wide - it kinda reminds me of a Knights sword, which is probably just a romatic girly thing to say, but I\'ve always liked the thought! :D

The sword is at my Mums - if I can photo it next time I visit, I will post the pics here.
