Do you like Kate Nash?

I had no idea until I realised she was the one who did that Foundations song (which bizarrley reminded me of Billy Bragg  )

Oh and yes I liked it.

I love the cockney dialect, but people should not sing in it.

I eat lemons cos im bittAAAAHHHH.

So no, I don\'t like it. A bit like DR, it\'s bearable though. I just wouldn\'t choose to listen to it.

And that Lily lass is much better looking.

To Chas and Dave.

(And any other people who sing with a cockney accent!)

The Cockerney singing style is getting a tad too common for my liking. Can never quite tell who\'s putting it on and who\'s not.

But despite knowing I probably shouldn\'t I do quite like the stuff I\'ve heard by Kate Nash. She also has a quirky alternative cuteness thing going on that seems to work for her from a marketing point of view, so well done to her. Pumpkin Soup is the track that works for me, despite it being way kitch and over the top, bubblegum pop for its own good!

lol Neither of them are stunners, but Lily Allen looks slightly like her dad, which is not good...

I have to admit, i\'m not in the \'cool kids camp\'. I could never get my head round all the shite music they listened to lol

Jazz...man...keep it lol

Doesn\'t surprise me (or \"Yes, yes you are uncool\".)

Who appointed this kid to the cool police?
I thought it sucked big time, so I must be super uncool

Indeed. Anyone with that attitude (and, as I\'m sure we all know, it\'s quite widespread), really, really, needs to grow up (really). It reminds me of the school-yard shenanigans all those years ago. ;)

Hubbahubba - I dunno, maybe society, probably just the universe in general.

p.s I posted this conundrum at Warseer a few weeks ago. I\'ve always seen that crowd as a bunch of Daily Mail-reading Little-Englander types, mixed with equal parts pre-pubescant adolescants, so their reaction didn\'t surprise me in the slightest (They are easily frightened, angered, and confused. They also hate The Boosh with equal voracity, for the most part). It was slightly worse than the general opinion on this thread, but not much! (which I am mildly surprised about lol)

Edit - actually, looking at page 1 there are some thumbs up there, so in the end you guys have not dissappointed me at all. I also liked Pumpkin Soup a lot. I didn\'t much like Foundations, apart from the chorus. One of my mates hated it and dislikes Kate Nash (apparently she is \"Mockney\". The guy is from Luton, so maybe this \"Mockney\" thing offends him, but I wouldn\'t know what to look for and don\'t give a toss either way)

lol That\'s an unfortunate line. I don\'t like that bit of the song either, I don\'t think she should have released it as her debut single. Check out myspace for the \"Hate Kate\" groups (heheh, some people have way too much spare time), a few are actually named after that line.

Cobblers. It\'s middle of the road dross for people who buy their music in the supermarket. And I\'m sick of middle-class girlies singing in a very \'street\' Brixton accent. It\'s bullshit.

I apologise for having an opinion that differs to yours....

Her accent is put on or exaggerated. She\'s from west London, I believe, so not a cockney. It\'s more estuary English as I read in a review about a live show of hers. I\'m not fussed either way about her music. I\'m not a big fan but I don\'t particularly dislike it either.

Regardless of this woman and her music, you jazzisforlosers, sound like a judgmental, opinionated pain in the arse. I hope my post hasn’t disappointed you too much.

I love you guys!

Way to fight over Kate Nash.

For round two I suggest the vitally important Ace of Base vs The Cheeky Girls debate.

No no no! This is important stuff. Besides the war in Iraq and the continuing debate on global warming, it is surely the defining issue of the 21st century, any fool can see that.

Well now, aren\'t we the spirit of Christmas? Thankyou for your kind and highly accurate appraisal ;) I briefly considered responding in a similar fashion, but that would have been unfair. My scathing analysis of you, whilst not as coarse and ill-concieved as your opinion of me, would nevertheless have been based purely upon your conduct in this thread (what with me not having the time or inclination to trawl through your other posts).

It would probably be more productive to ask what exactly you don\'t like about what I\'ve written, and why it has provoked such a response? Do you read the Daily Mail? Has your little outburst boosted your self esteem in some way? pm me if you want and we can discuss it in more detail, I\'m sure I can find time in my busy schedule to help repair your damaged psyche :)
