New series of Doctor Who starts on saturday in the UK. Can\'t wait for the cybermen :D

Can David Tennant can come up with the goods? We didn\'t really get to see a massive amount of him in the christmas special, should be interesting to see what kind of Doctor he is going to be

Since I\'ve been watching Dr Who since it began in the 60\'s I didn\'t mind Chrisopher Eccleston in the role. (Ok the scripts were a little \'iffy\' , but no worse then some of the dire stuff churned out during the Slyvester Mccoy days.)
I\'m hoping that Tennant will continue a bit of the dark & sarcastic humour of Eccleston and make the role more rounded.

Still think William Hartnell was the best Doctor.

I think Tennant will be superb. At first I thought it was some BBC publicity hoax that Christopher Ecclestone was leaving after one series to be replaced by David Tennant - it all seemed a bit sudden.
At first I was sceptical but now I\'ve come round to the idea.
I thought Ecclestone was too \'method actor\'. Sure he was technically good but you could kind of tell he wasn\'t enjoying it.
If you ever saw him interviewed outside of the role this seemed pretty apparent. It was almost like it was beneath him.
David Tennant seems \'up for it\' and I\'m hoping he\'ll lend a bit of himself to the role and inject some sardonic humour.

As an American fan of the show I get so puzzled by what you Islanders say.
Who are Chrisopher Eccleston, Slyvester Mccoy, and David Tennant ?

I only started watching in the 1970s, but my station dropped the show as soon as Davison morphed into Baker II and I haven\'t seen a station carry the show since. I\'ve never seen a Baker II episode. One station did run back to the Pertwee episodes, which was nice, but I\'ve never seen anyone before that, so the Doctor is one of 3 men to me (I try to forget the Fox TV fiasco).

I\'ve heard most Brits find Pertwee the best Doc, and most Americans, Tom Baker.
(and of course TB did an amazing roll as Cpt. Redbeard Rum, a nifty Puddleglum, and was even a tolerable Sir Guy de Gisbourne)

I currently work in the BBC in cardiff (nothing exciting just finance), but the doctor who team has just moved into the room next to us.

It was quite cool we got exclusive posters for the new series. I haven\'t seen any cybermen or Daleks yet. I\'ll let you know if I see anything strange.

I was a little worried when they first showed clips on sci-fi in the US. But when I got to see the show, I was pleased that they still had their tongue firmly inserted in their cheek. There is still a great sense of fun and they kept just enough cheesiness to make it work!

I just started watching recently and I already love the show, its one of the better shows on Sci-Fi, there is some junk on there. Not alot though.

Apart from Nicola Bryant you haven\'t missed much!
:D

Tom Baker is the best Doctor for me, Sylvester McCoy the worst (although to be fair he wasn\'t helped by the stories, guest stars etc)

Sorry...

I am not posting this to upset anyone or be unecessarily provocative...but as far as I am concerned all Dr Who is utter, appalling, attrocious crap with no redeeming features whatsoever!!

Sorry, had to get that off my chest....:D:bouncy:

That\'s ok Finn we forgive you.

I on the other hand maintain that there cannot be a Doctor who in his own odd way is not fantastic. Yea verily even P. Troughton, although he is an acquired taste.

Doctor\'s companions on the other hand are both loved and despised. (Before Star trek had Wesley Crusher, Dr. Who had Adric.
