Does affiliation change when Jaqen copies and influence?

Hi!

When the Jaqen NCU uses 'Choosing a name' to copy a ability of someone like Aeron Greyjoy, on which it states 'may only influence greyjoy units' does Jaqen change the required affiliation? I.e. can Jaqen then influence any unit or does it stay as being influence greyjoy units' only?

There is nothing to suggest he removes or changes the restrictions on Abilities in any way, outside changing the name of the NCU to his own. If the Ability says it can only affect Greyjoy units then it can only affect Greyjoy units.

From 2021 FAQ: Jaqen also copies the name of the NCU he is copying. Therefore, the restriction to only influence Greyjoy units would still be applicable.

Thanks. my only concern is that on Aerons card the sated "Aeron can only influence Greyjoy units" comes above the influence text.

I believe only the text that comes after the bolded word "Influence:" are copied, otherwise Jaqen would copy a whole suite of rules from Joffrey for example (his automatic control of crowns and panic token) that don't really seem to be part of his influence but come under the same rule name heading.

The result would be that Jaqen can influence a neutral unit while copying Aeron's ability

As stated above, Jaqen does not interact with Faction or Affiliation in any fashion unless he is explicitly copying an effect that would do so (an example being "While Influencing a unit, they could as a R'hllor unit" from some Baratheon NCUs).

thank you for your regular responses in this forum. I greatly appreciate them.

But not being a native speaker, I am uncertain what this response means in relation to the original poster's question. Does this mean Jaqen can only influence Greyjoy units when copying Aeron Greyjoy, or may Jaqen influence any combat unit and grant Aeron's copied effect to them?
