No, I\'ve never seen a picture of him, then I would know.. It\'s the really high voice I\'ve heard that threw me..

All the world\'s indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another\'s audience
Outside the gilded cage

:p

Living in the Limelight,
The universal dream,
For those who wish to seem,
Those who wish to be,
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination ,
The real relation,
The underlying theme....

I think thats right, its late here and I\'ve been up since 4:00 AM..

Great songs... Neal Peart is a genius with lyrics! :D

Speaking of the Tragically Hip, my mum went to school with two of their members. :p

As for Thanksgiving fair, we usually just club a seal and eat it raw, with some nice yellow snow sauce as well of course. :D

As a \"left-coast\"er, I have to object to the \"icy\" part of the \"icy paradise\" description of Canada. It is my duty as a Vancouverite to let the Yanks know that Vancouver is about a 2-3hr drive north of Seattle, and it\'s not like our weather\'s any different. We get rain about half the time here, and snow about 2 days a year. You have to go further north or east for that.

You\'d be suprised at how many Yanks I\'ve met who somehow think that as soon as one crosses the border, all of the sudden green forests turn into arctic tundra.

And on the subject of Canadian women, don\'t forget Carrie Anne Moss (super tight black latex chick from The Matrix). I\'m sure you all know who SHE is, right? :D

Canada, eh?

I\'ve seen pictures of the elusive Saxonangel ya\'ll, and am of the opinion that she also belongs on the list of fair Canadian lasses.

And no, that aint just the 120 days in the desert talking.

:D

I\'ve not been to Canada in many a year but I have fond memories of it - well, except for blowing a tire at 80 miles an hour on a rain slick highway traveling from New York to Michigan by the short route in a 74 Lincoln Town Car. But thats a long story, and I digress.

So it doesn\'t snow a lot in Canada?

Let me ask you this, if it snows in Canada, no matter what part, how long does it take to melt? In Georgia the answer is about 2 hours.

I\'ve never been to Canada, mostly because I\'m afraid of boats, but I\'ve always wanted to go. I have a friend who claims to have been born in Canada. He wasn\'t. Still, he loves snow, he can name more than 3 professional hockey players and he hates French. So we all assumed he was Canadian. I sniffed out the truth one day when he said, \"I\'m not really from Canada.\" I knew he was subtlely hinting that he wasn\'t from Canada.

Canada, Canada
The place that no one notices
So much like America
Except everyone can count.
Canada, Canada
The sasquatch keeps a monestary there
They have dreams in Canada
And it snows a large amount.

In response to inquiries about our snowfall:

In Ontario the first snowfall is sometime in November, the first few just melt away but after a while it builds up. By January we have about 4\" of snow at least, on the ground. Then Febuary, the month all Eastern Canucks dread, is cold and snowy. Sometimes it\'s -30 C and the snow is up to your waist. (If you\'re short like me ;))

After that it gets gradually warmer and we see grass by April. :D

So, Canada has 6 bloody cold months of winter, half the year. Nice place to visit for most but not a nice place to live if you hate snow.

Yeah

I grew up in the states, just south of the border off of the lakes. It is f***ing cold and snows too darn much. :flame:

There is a good reason I\'ve lived in Georgia for the last 21 years!! lol:

Becca, it is very pretty when it snows, and kind of cool sometimes to be out in it, but you just want to visit, you don\'t want to live there. Like anything else it can get old quick.

Cheers,
G

driving in heavy snow gets old all too quickly the snow is fine, it\'s all those who forget or never knew how to drive in it in the first place that cause \"some difficulties\":D

Ehh, it only gets old when you have to drive. For the young \'uns, it\'s great.

I do, however, hate the months of feubruary to march, when it starts to warm up in fits and starts. There\'s nothing worse than a brown, slushy, foot high mess of wetness that last for a week, freezes into ice, gets snowed on, melts, freezes, and so on. this goes on for about a month in Nelson at least. The best months are december and january, when it\'s cold throughout...The snow just piles up...Average snowfall here is about 9\'11\'\' or so, so the snowplow drifts turn into huge warrens of tunnels.

*sniff* Now I\'m gettin\' all sentimental...I can\'t wait till winter.

Here\'s a pic of downtown Nelson around the beginning of December.

Yeah, one of my favourite parts of winter is that wonderful sound the snowplow makes...It almost sounds like the jingling bells of santa\'s sleigh.

At least, it does until it goes into reverse and those godamn reverse warning beeps start up. At six o\'clock in the morning, no less. I needs me beauty sleep!

we get plenty of snow here in Iowa. Honestly, when it first falls it is rather pretty, but quickly becomes a pain in the butt.

Actually, if we could all just stay home until it melted, it would be fine, but no such luck. The driving, the sloppy slushy icy roads, filthy cars, shovelling the driveway, cold, wet....yuck.

Yup, here in Sweden like in Canada it\'s very nice in january, but in march this is pretty much the weather all the time:

I lke the cold and the darkness of midwinter, but the time in between that and spring is horrible.
