Does the ranking system need fixed?

I was under the impression that your ranking is calculated as an average score from your top 5 minis (with 50+ votes).

A pretty good system, apart from the fact that it takes into account multiple pics of the same mini!

For example, the 6th best painter on the site has only 3 (extremely well painted) minis in his gallery. This is slightly unfair for the people who paint at a slightly lower level but produce far more.

Also, in the top 10 minis, slots 4 and 5 are taken up by the same model!

Both points are minor quibbles, but what are your thoughts?

there is some truth in what you say, but such a thing is impossible to moderate and the code of conduct here doesn\'t say it\'s forbidden to upload multiple pics of the same mini.

Yeah, the ranking system has it\'s glitches.. If you go by average of top 5 minis of a person, a person who gets a 7 or more consistantly will be lower than a person who usually gets a 5 but has multiple pics of their only mini that they got an 8 on.. I personally don\'t like the multiple angles on multiple entries either, prefering to put them on one image, but it\'s a judgement call on the person\'s part.. and it seems many people have screwed up morals around here... (Well, they do anyways, but...) :p

I think I agree in theory but as said its a system that works on the whole and to change it for the good on one count will ruin it on another.
Multiple postings is a think I dont agree with but I think it is self moderated.
ie if someone posts several images of the same mini the majority will downscore becuase of it.

I think a lot of the top rated minis and painters are now \"outdated\",not all mind,and some sort of \"purge\" would be nice.Not going to loose sleep over it though.:D

Sure there are loopholes and glitches in the system, but who really cares where they are ranked? I view my place from time to time just to track how I have improved, but in my humble opinion if anyone is really letting their rank here actually have any influence on their life, I feel very sorry for them. Paint only as a form of self expression and for fun. Hobbies are supposed to be fun, aren\'t they????

hm by the way is there any way to find out your ranking without having to browse through the entire list?
