You're happily painting a model, a metal song comes on your iTunes you haven't heard in ages; it's the catchiest riff in the galaxy; the desire to headband is overwhelming

But wait!
You're holding a model and you've just mixed up the perfect shade for your highlight! You sit there stunned, torn between the two, the paint drying on your brush all the while. You realise your folly, put down the model and start to headbang...

But it's too late! the metal-on moment is passed and your desire to headbang with it :(

my usual reaction is to be strong
complete the task at hand
go back and try to replicate the event, generally to no avail
and probably lose the feeling i had going for the miniature
i should just wet my brush go with it and remix

Nope, never experienced that quandary. You are, I suspect, what is technically known as, mental. :p

I'd just mosh in my head. Visualling it rather than actually doing it. Could either learn those powerful meditative techniques on a retreat to the mountains of Tibet and training under hidden Lamas guarding that secret knowledge, or just imagine it jiggling about like so many embarassed peeps lurking at the edge of a dance floor have to do.
Got a passport? Might get some cheap flights to Tibet this time of year.

Honestly, yes, I know this well, and thus I expect I should be commited...

...Especially as I rarely consider the mini or paint - the headbang always wins XD

Mine's more like "hear a (often metal) song from my playlist, and suddenly want to paint a miniature inspired by it. Rummage through my unpainted collection, and voila... two months later (I paint slow), I've posted it here accompanied by the lyrics that motivated it."

This is usually where my Chaos paintjobs come from :)

I usually end up sounding like Beavis instead. Focused on the painting but mumbling the tune in a " BANANANANA DANANA TIDDLY REWAR!" fashion. Or having a jolly little sing along in a low grumble.

This just popped into my head actually. Not to be watched if you're of nervous disposition, don't like naughty words, or...well, metal really. Fat Ed is the man.

worst that happend to me was when 'no gettin over you?' by david guetta came on my radio- arfter 10 mins of waving my arms about i realised that i had a phienox lord and a paintbrush in my hands.................... and paint all over my arm and his sword was gunked up :p
