Don\'t know what got into me . . .

If all your painted miniatures came to life, maintaining their current scale and all abilities - rifles and all firearms would fire, spells could be cast, they could all move at their relative speed, could they kill you?

What if you were sleeping and they had time to plan and deploy?

I definately think they could kill you. But considering all the evil minis I have, they\'d probably all kill each other first.:D

Hmmm, I\'ll admit ive dreamed up stories about this kind of thing. Like how if, say, a crappy painted mini got wounded, the blood would be all bright red and gloppy. And them deuling inside display cabinets.... yes i know i\'m crazy

i wouldn\'t say a bunch of orks could because you\'d know they were comming and you could squish \'em. But some sneaky dark eldar could poison your tea, and hide in a sandwhich, and once you ate them they would tear you up from the inside as your digestive fuilds stripped them. And if you had a titan, one of them huuuuge guns could easily kill you. In fact, a lot of forgeworld super tanks and such would be really dangerous. Oh god I\'m scared now...

Dragon short story

Anyone remember that wonderful short story in one of the old Dragon Mags? It was about a mini painter who worked really hard on a mini, and finished this viking barbarian (or something like this), by putting just the tiniest dot of white in the eye for a reflection. Then the guy came to life, and he was a little bast**d. He took over this guy\'s life and demanded that he paint him a woman (typical malelol). Anyway, the painter swapped a head off of a harpy with some hot barbarian chick\'s body, and she was a nagging witch. So the male barbarian killed her because he couldn\'t stand her anymore (no comments from the male peanut gallery please. ;)

You know what? I don\'t remember how the painter got rid of the little creep.lol I\'ll have to dig the mag out of the attic and read it again.:( But it was a great story....okay....shutting up now.....:bouncy:

Ticklish?

Good question! I wonder if they could (in this scenario) feel the brush strokes? If so then are they tickelish? And (since I have a lot of mini\'s yet unpainted) would they come to life before you painted them????

There was some sort of magic brush involved and I think he hammered the little bugger to death - then painted a female barb that had the same behavior.

Okay, I dug it out....really bored right nowlol To give proper credit, the story is in Vol 18, #11, Issue 204, April 1994. phew! The story is \"A Brush With Life\" by Tim Emswiler.

Okay, the story goes like I said before (but the brush wasn\'t magical, it was just a really old one his grandfather gave him), but after the barbarian killed the harpy/woman, he demanded another mate, so the painter painted him a real barbarian woman mini this time. When she came to life, she told the male barbarian that he wasn\'t worthy of her, and she stabbed him. Then she turned to the painter and demanded a mate. Then the painter dropped a book on her head. End of story. Trust me, it was more expertly written than thatlol and a great read if you can get your hands on it. Really spoke to me as a mini painter, ya know? *sniffing all emotional like*

I knew I had read it, but all the lead I have absorbed over the years has turned my brain to swiss cheese, so I was doing good to remember what I did remember of it. lol

Yeah, i\'d say so. Some of my dwarfs and space marines could kick my ass. I\'ve got a dwarf cannon which albiet slightly smaller than real life :( could still fire balls the size of a bb. Lets not talk about the flame cannon. My space marines could probably dish some serious damage too, with dreadnoughts and stuff. I\'d just have to let loose the bane of their existence, my dog charlie on them, and it\'s a piece o\' cake. or maybe my clumsy hands could do the trick. I destroy enough accidentaly as it is lol:(

Oh, and by the way, when i was a kid, i had a book like that story. It was called the magic paintbrush, and it was about a painter who added just a bit too much realism, and his paintings came to life. Bad guys hear about him, imprison him to do their bidding, kills em\' , escapes, the end. It was a good book, and i can still remember it well....ahhhhhh...the lost days of youth. Well, I\'m still kinda technically a youth, but y\' know.

S\'okay. I think you came rather close, in your own special waylol Thought I\'d better give credit where it\'s due so the folks at Dragon don\'t sue me for \"getting the story wrong or something\" (doesn\'t sound like a legal term, does it?):D

Glad I\'m not the only one who pondered this question. I though it was weird when I thought of it, now i know it\'s still weird, but just a symptom of painting too much.

Looking over my collection, I\'d say that magic-users would be the major hazard. Minis with handheld projectile weapons the least. Now, I have 3 Jedi... with lightsabers. That could get ugly. And an Alien Queen. Hmm, \"molecular acid\" for blood.

For the love of god, go to bed, NSA

ah the childhood fantasy that spawned the \"indian in the cupboard\". nah my guys wouldnt kill me because i keep a heavier balance of good and chaotic good over nuetral and evil.

I\'m doomed

Ok now IÕm going to have nightmares....most of my minis are either horse & rider, or horse related.....and with some of the war steeds topping out at over a thousand pounds, I would be just a grease smear in the dirt......

If I was a boxer I would class as \'heavyweight\' but I am afraid my lead collection is considerably heavier.

They wouldn\'t even need to put much effort into the process because I would estimate the real life calibre of my Baneblade to be about .38.

@wiccanpony, I think they are supposed to retain their scale, so your horses would all have to gang up...

To clarify:

yes - they do retain their current scale . . .(woe be unto those with a 54mm Panzer Division) lol

Vallan - nope - only those painted and based would activate . . .

And wasn\'t there a Stephen King short story that dealt with this?

Well I certainly hope they retain their scales, because I\'m fairly sure I don\'t stand a chance agianst, say, Mira. Or any other mini, for that matter, since most - if not all - of them are supposed to be trained wariors and heros.

Space Marines own me. :(

Oh, I don\'t know....

I can think of worse ways to go than at the hands of Katalin or Sophie succubus. Both maybe:innocent::D

silly me......

 LOL...the scale slipped my mind completely ...but that 60 pounds of lead horseys is still going to make a mighty big ouchy! Visions of thousands of tiny hoofs kick the stuffing out of me... is there a doctor in the house!!!:flip:

ya - if it weren\'t for scale - I think a cat, if it was extremely determined on the offense, could take me out . . well maybe two or three.
